For a second, she thought it was William whose cries 
have woken her from the light sleep she'd just drifted into.  But 
no, it was her phone ringing.  Who would be calling at this hour?? 
The body beside hers shifted his weight and groaned, making a couple 
unintelligible sounds as he rolled over and started reaching for the 
phone.  She small hand catches his just before it reaches the 
receiver, reminding him that he probably shouldn't answer, this being HER 
apartment and not his house.

"Agent Scully." she answered with a minimal trace of 
sleep in her voice. Afterall, she is not unaccustomed to late 
night calls.  

"Hi Dana.  I'm sorry to wake you, but I need you over 
at Quantico right now to look at a body." Monica's voice sounded 
urgent yet apologetic. 

"Monica?  Umm, okay, I'll be right over."  Click.  

"What is it?"  his deep voice rumbled against her ear 
as he draped his arm around her, pulling her closer.  

"You'll get your own call in a sec." 

"Umm, what?"  As if on cue, his cell phone started 
ringing.  Stretching over to the night table on his side while 
pulling her with him, he had to put a gentle hand over her protests 
before answering the phone.

"John Doggett."  

"John, it's Monica.  I just tried you at home but I 
guess you aren't in.  I need you to come to Quantico to take a look at 
something.  Agent Scully is on her way." 

"Monica -" stified yawn, "Okay, I'll be there as soon 
as I can." 

By the time he pressed the 'end' button and his eyes 
grew accustomed to the sudden light turned on, Dana was already 
halfway dressed.  

"What about Will?"  he asked, getting up himself.  

"Let me make a call."    

"As long as it's not to Dr. Bronzino."

"What's wrong with Rocky?" Dana asked with mock 
seriousness, but couldn't keep a straight face at the horrified 
expression on John's face.

She placed the call, feeling slightly guilty for 
waking someone else up at this hour.  

"I think I'll head over to Quantico first.  Can you 
stay and wait?" 

She glanced around the room.  "And make the bed, 
okay?" She said with a smile.

"Yes, ma'am" he gave her a mock salute.  "I'd bet 
Skinner was real happy to get woken up."

this "Agent Scully" "Agent Doggett" crap.  What happened to 
"John" & "Dana" of NIHT??  And WE WANT SKINMAN, Every Episode,
