Oh and I don't own Scully, Doggett, Skinner, or the x-files, so Chris Carter, eat yer heart out. Summary: Doggett and Scully are sent to Costa Rica to investigate 3 murders when their plane crashes and they land on a desert island. Doggett and Scully and weed oh my! Skinner opened the door to his office and summoned the two agents in. Agents Doggett and Scully entered and sat down, awaiting their next assignment Sk nner resumed his position behind the desk and handed Doggett a folder. "There have been some rather strange happenings in Costa Rica. Three murders, all of the victims found with puncture wounds in their necks and blood drained from the bodies. Here are two plane tickets, you'll be leaving this afternoon." "This afternoon, sir??" Doggett asked, his eyebrows raised. "I apologize for the lack of warning, agents. I received the file only a n hour ago and it was marked 'Urgent'. However, you should have sufficient time to prepare before your flight. Now if there are no further questions, I have work to do." Doggett handed Scully the file as they rose to leave Skinner's office. As soon as they were out of earshot, Doggett began muttering curses under his breath. Scully paused and raised an eyebrow at him. "At least you don't have to find a babysitter within the next hour." Doggett chuckled, his mood visibly lightened. "What time should I pick you up?" "Two O'clock should give us plenty of time. " She gave him a polite smile and strode quickly towards the elevator. He stood, watching her leave. "Great. See you then." **************************************=**** They arrived at the airport with fifteen minutes till boarding time. The gate was loacated in the back of the airport, a section reserved for private planes. As they neared the gate, a man wearing a leather bomber jacket greeted them. "Are you agents Doggett and Scully?" They showed their identification and the pilot nodded, taking two of their bags and heading down the ramp. "Follow me." He led them outside to the small plane. "I apologize for the size of the plane. But you're scheduled on a private flight since it seems that...I'm the only one who's willing to fly down there right now." "Why is that?" Scully questioned. "Well, it seems there's a tropical storm brewing down there. Now a less experienced pilot would never try a stunt like this if he knew what was good fer him. But you're in good hands. I've battled gales three times the intensity and came out of it without as much as a scratch on me." Scully and Doggett exchanged worried looks. The pilot noticed this and kept talking. "I promise we'll be fine, no one's better qualified to fly this thing. I'm Captain Morgan by the way...like the rum. So I'll just get your bags loaded up and we'll be on our way." The pilot started to move their bags as Scull y and Doggett climbed into the back seat. She looked at him, concern evident in her expression. "Doggett, I don't think this is a..." He put a hand on her shoulder and squeezed gently. "...Good idea." "We'll be fine, Scully," he assured her, "just try to get some sleep and we'll be there before ya know it." She managed a small smile, and fastened her seatbelt, settling herself back into a more comfortable sleep position. Soon they were taking off, heading south for Costa Rica. ****************************************************** Several hours later, Doggett began to stir from sleep. He felt a weight o n his shoulder and slowly opened his eyes. Scully had fallen asleep, her head now nestled against his shoulder. He lay still and watched her sleep. He w as still studying her sleeping form five minutes later, when his stomach jumped into his throat. Turbulence rocked the plane back and forth, dropping suddenly, and then climbing desperately for leverage in the storm. Scully woke suddenly, her eyes large and frightened. Doggett gripped the armrest, his knuckles white and his hands shaking. The pilot screamed back, " It's a little worse that was predicted. Hopefully we'll be out of the worst of it soon. Right now we're over the ocean, st ill a few hours from out destination, but..." He stopped midsentence when a gust of wind tossed them so hard the plane nearly flipped...soon after, it began to nosedive. Scully screamed as her stomach lurched, the storm hurtling them downwards at a 45-degree angle. ******************************************************* Doggett slowly became conscious, his mind foggy and realized that he was soaking wet. The plane had crashed somewhere in the ocean. The salty water w as already up to his chest, and Scully's chin, and the plane appeared to be sinking fast. He turned to his partner, still lying unconscious next to him, and began to unbuckle both their seat belts. Now free, he pulled her close to him and began to swim towards the front of the plane. The pilot wasn't as lucky. Glass was sticking out of him from every angle, now a mass of bloody pulp. Doggett cringed when he saw the barely recognizable carcass floating next to him. He quickly turned his head and swam past, through the broken windshield. The waters outside of the plane were turbulent. The two bobbing heads were tossed around through the twenty-foot waves, at the mercy of the angry ocean. Doggett spotted a piece of one of the wings and swam towards it. He reached it and hung on, grateful for some floatation, and with his other arm, pulled Scully closer. The waves continued to have their way with the two as Doggett whispered into her ear, "We're gonna make it. Just hold on, Scully. Don't give up on me." ****************************************************** The next time Doggett woke up, he realized he was no longer in the water. He rolled over onto his side and coughed up the water that had taken residence in his lungs. He felt hands on him, one supporting his head and one rubbing his arm. He turned over and looked up to see Scully smiling down at him. He immediately sat up, taking in his surroundings. Then he looked back at Scully. "Are you ok? I'm so sorry about this, I shoulda never convinced you to do this." He winced then and clutched his head in pain. "Doggett, lay back, you've got a pretty nasty gash on your forehead." "She supported his head and slowly lowered him back down to the sand. He closed his eyes for a moment and when he opened them, she was looking back d own at him, concern evident in her eyes. "Thank you," She said. He looked at her, perplexed. "For what? For makin you take an ill-fated f light to the South Seas? You should be slappin me!" She shook her head, frustrated. "Dammit, John! You saved my life! You probably have a concussion, yet you rescued me from that wreckage. You are an honest, loyal, courageous human being and I'm thankful to have you here with me." He blinked, staring at her so intensely that she started to blush. "Well..." he finally answered, "Now that you put it that way." He grinned, and the n sat up slowly. They sat quietly, surveying their surroundings. "It's beautiful." She said. "I know." He stood slowly, and then took her hand to help her up. "C'mon, let's go explore so we know what we're dealin with..." As they made their way down the beach they remained hand in hand, neither willing to let go. Eventually, they worked their way around the entire island. The sun was high in the sky, beating down furiously, and they decided to stop and rest in the shade. They sat close together, leaning against a boulder, catching their breath. They sat quietly, listening to the waves lap against the shore. Scully began to voice her thoughts out loud. "I wonder how far off course we are...do you think the search planes will know where to look?" Doggett sighed, "Scully...the wind threw us pretty far off the train, I'm afraid. I don't wanna sound like pessimist, but there's no telling how long we'll be stuck here." He stood and turned to help her up. "But I do know on e thing. We've gotta find a fresh water source, or we won't last too long." "You're right." She squeezed his hand before she let go and started hiking into the shrubbery. Before long, they began to hear a roaring sound. He grabbed her shoulder and pointed his finger in the direction of the noise. "Shhh...listen." She listened and her face began to spread into a wide grin. She took off running towards the sound and he followed in close pursuit, laughing. They ended up running out of the brush onto a rock ledge overlooking a roaring waterfall. They stood at the edge, leaning against each other trying to catch their breath. "Think we can jump?" Scully looked at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "Scully, I don't think that's such a..." But she had already grabbed his hand and was dragging him, running towards the edge. "Here goes nuthin..." He gave in and dashed with her, leaping into the churning pool below. Before he knew it, he could feel the cool water enveloping him, and he fought, clawing towards the surface. When he hit air again, gasping, he searched for Scully. She wasn't there. "Scully!!" he started diving under, searching for her under the water. "Oh God...SCULLY!!!!!" he felt panic take him over, but suddenly felt something grab his leg and pull him under. "Aumpf...." When he broke free and bobbed back up to the surface again, he opened his eyes to find Scully treading water next to him, laughing harder than he'd e ver seen her. When he realized what she had done, he grabbed her and dunked her under, laughing now himself. He let her back up and she spit water into his face and started for the shallow water. He started after her, his grin widening, and caught up to her in the shallow water, knocking her over. They wrestled with each other until they noticed how close their proximity was, their faces only inches apart. Both breathing hard, Doggett looked deeply into her eyes, his gaze softening..."Scully..." He had one hand in her hair, hi s thumb rubbing gently against her jaw line. She took a step closer to him, her body now against his and put a hand on his chest the other around his waist. He tilted her head up towards his and leaned forward, gently kissing her lips. It was sweet and sensuous, and he pulled back, hoping that he hadn't overstepped his boundaries. She drew both arms around him then, pulling him into a tight embrace. They held each other like that for a while, Scully eventually pulling back to look up at him. Her eyes shined with love for this man, and he returned her gaze, eyes brimming with tears. He pulled her closer and whispered in her ear, "Dana, I love you so much. I....I never dared to believe that you could possibly feel the same for me. I mean, after losing Mulder and all..." "John..." She touched his lips with her finger, " I love you too." She wrapped a hand around the back of his neck, pulling him back down to her lips. She kissed him purposely and firmly, exploring his mouth with her tongue. He moaned into her mouth, his arms wrapping around her waist clutching her to him. Then she grappled with his t-shirt, wrestling it off his muscled upper body. He followed suit, unbuttoning her blouse and swiftly throwing it to the ground. As they hastily undressed, the moved onto the muddy bank, Doggett lowering her down to the ground. After ridding themselves of their clothing , he looked down at her. "God Scully, you're beautiful." She just grinned an d pulled him down on top of her. He entered her gently, but filled her completely. They established a slow, easy rhythm, as he moved in and out of her, observing her reactions and repeating the stroked that made her moan the loudest. He positioned himself behind her, changing positions. He pulled her back up against him and entered her from behind. She began to moan his name and arched her back. He moved his hands from her hips to her breasts, gripping them tightly and teasing her nipples with his thumbs. She worked her abdomen pressing all her weight back down onto him. He pressed up against her with equal fervor, bringing them both to climax. They called out each others names as they came together, collapsing onto the muddy bank. He rolled over and pulled her on top of him, so as not to crush her. She opened her eyes into a half-lidded, lazy grin and looked down at him. He was so sexy, lying below her, his hair sticking up in every direction, his toned body slicked with wet mud. And those eyes...Just the intensity in his gaze alone could bring her to orgasm. He looked at her now with equal adoration, and wrapped his arms tightly around her. "I'll never let you go, " he growled possessively. She nuzzled his neck with her nose and sighed, falling asleep. When they woke, they decided to finish exploring the island and hopefully find some edible plant life. As they were walking, they stumbled upon a clump of thickly growing plants. Doggett bent down and tore a bud from the fragrant plant. He sniffed it, then showed it to Scully, grinning. "Well, we found the party supplies. Care for a smoke?" Her eyes widened with delight. "I haven't smoked any of that since college!" Doggett proceeded to gather handfuls of the stuff and filled his pockets. "Well," He stood and faced her. "We may be stuck on an island, but at least we can get high." They both laughed and embraced each other, continuing on, arm in arm in search of food. At the end of their search, they ended up with a feast of coconuts, edible sea algae, and berries and of course, an ounce of tropical marijuana. After their feast, sunset began to creep up on them, and Doggett collected dry paper like bark from nearby trees. He returned and sat next to Scully. She looked at him inquisitively. "What's that?" He smiled seductively at her and whispered, "Papers..." She giggled and nudged his arm. He expertly broke apart the crystalline buds and placed them in a paper, rolling it between his thumbs and licking an edge. Scully watched his expert job and raised her eyebrows. "John, I never knew you were such an experienced smoker." He finished rolling it and lit it with a small pack of matches from his favorite restaurant that he had found in his pocket. Taking a few drags, he p assed it to her and replied, " Well in high school, I wasn't exactly Wally Cleaver, if ya know what I mean." She hooked her arm around his and took small drags from the joint. She g inned and imitated him, "Glad ya know what yer doin', Agent Doggett." He rolled on top of her with no warning and held her down, tickling her. She giggled and shrieked, trying to get away from him. He stopped and pulled her, laughing, onto his lap so that she was straddling him. "Dana, I'm not one to want to be stranded on an island fer the rest of my life, but you make me never want to leave." She looked at him, love filling her eyes and rested her forehead against his. "If it weren't for William, I wouldn't mind spending the rest of my life here with you. But he doesn't have his father, I'd hate for him to lost his mother, too." Her eyes began to fill with tears. He wiped them and kissed her nose. "We'll get off this island, don't worry. It's just a matter of time." he hugged her to him, brushing stray strands of hair from her forehead. "We'll find a way."
