LOL Chapter One "Dream Man" Scully woke up in the early hours with a big smile on her face and feeling tingly all over. Luxuriating in the warm bed and rolling on her side, she looked over to a sleeping partner beside her checking to see if he had any inkling of her recent pleasure. She remembered back to her very vivid dream. It was a sunny day, blue skies, a perfect day for a picnic. It had just popped out of thin air. "Dana." He hadn't called her that before. It was always Scully or Agent Scully so she knew the next statement was going to be different. "It's a lovely day outside, we've been working hard on this case. I think we deserve a treat. I'd like to take you on a picnic." The words had surprised her but delighted her at the same time. He'd arranged all the food, fresh salad, crusty baguettes, chicken, fruit, clotted cream and a bottle of champagne. The spot by the lake was picturesque and quite deserted. There was more to this outing than she'd first imagined. Then it happened. He moved up close, gazed into her eyes and brushed his lips over hers. She could *feel* the smile as he teased hers apart with his tongue. Her frozen state had thawed and now she could move her arms around to touch the wonderful muscles of this man's back urging him on with his oral attention. The kiss was rapture, warm, magic. Tongues connected and traced everywhere they could reach exploring for the very first time. This was their first kiss. He wanted to make it special for her. Pulses were racing. They could feel their bodies as one big ballpark. Every pore was an eager spectator as their favourite player hit home. Their groans and sighs were the cheering of the crowd as they felt their whole being elevate further into the realm of heaven. She sensed his sweet breath on her ear whispering words that only added to the atmosphere of their own small arena. Her hands moved over his back. This man was a gift to women, lean, muscular, taut and yet soft and sensuous. And then she woke, not totally in a dream but half in reality. It was early morning, she was in bed next to a sleeping Mulder. Again she looked across to check on any change in her baby's father's demeanor that would suggest recognition of her recent enjoyment. There was none. She closed her eyes picturing the man in her dream and wondered at the significance. Was John Doggett as exceptional a kisser as her reverie indicated? Chapter Two "Sh**!" Agent Doggett stormed into the X-Files basement office and slammed the door. "Sh**!" He slammed the files down on his desk with force and slumped down in his chair resting his head uneasily in his hands. What sounded like sobbing into his palms was in fact more silent expletives. He banged his hand down on the desk so hard that he flinched at the pain he'd caused. He'd thought he'd been the only one there because Agent Reyes had taken a personal day off. Something about visiting some relatives in town. A quiet voice interrupted his cussing soliloquy. "Agent Doggett," the voice echoed from the dim light on the other side of the room. He looked up. "Scully." He suddenly felt a little embarrassed and shifted in his seat uneasily. She moved out from the shadows towards his desk. Flame red hair, brilliant blue eyes, petite frame all reminded Doggett of a goddess. He was in love with her. He had been since their very first assignment to find Mulder. He admired her intellect, her stamina, her creed and above all she was an angel to look at. All he wanted to do was sweep her off her feet, spin her around and plant her with kisses. The day she came into the office to tell him about her plans to come back to work was a memorable one. He'd been so happy and she'd looked and smelled so good. He wouldn't dare tell her all this, it would only just spoil the relationship they did have. She was with Mulder now, well as much as Mulder was in town. He was away more often than home, following up leads in his new job as a private investigator into the paranormal. He was living with her, they shared a bed, their bodies and their baby William. Who was Doggett to come between their happy family life, so he just kept these thoughts to himself. "Agent Doggett, can I help you?" he looked down at his hand and saw blood. Someone had used his pencil sharpener and left it out in the wrong spot. "You're bleeding, let me look at that." "It's nothing." He shook his head and went for his handkerchief from his pants pocket. "It's not nothing, give me your hand." Scully reached down and the touch alone was enough to send sparks of electricity throughout his body. His eyes went from his fingers to her face and the gorgeous blue eyes studying his hand with furrowed concentration. Doggett wished she could have held his hand all day but she let go to look for a first aid kit. While cleaning up the blood and wrapping the bandage she spoke. "So Agent Doggett, tell me what is so bad that has made you such a masochistic?" She smiled. He shook his head and was silent. She rested his hand back and sat on the edge of his desk. He couldn't remember the last time she'd been so close to him, he could smell her perfume. He knew that smell, one of his past girlfriends used to wear Chanel No.5, it made him want to reach up and pull her face to his and kiss her taking in more of her sweet fragrance. If she could read his thoughts now he knew she'd be out that door in a flash. "I don't wanna talk about it. It's nothing you'd wanna know." "Try me." Leaning down a little further towards his face she whispered, "Agent Doggett, there will be times when we will work cases together again. You have to learn to trust me and be open with me. Let this be a practice session." "Kersh pulled me off the case." He relented, shaking his head. "What? I can't believe it." Doggett stood up at this point, took his jacket off and went over to hang it over on the coat tree. He ran his fingers nervously through his short, spiky hair. "There was a small indiscretion on my part. I blew it." "Your cover was blown?" She fished for more information. He sat down again and looked into her eyes. "No, I slept with the woman." Scully couldn't believe her ears. All Doggett could see was Scully's shocked expression and open mouth. "I know, he had every right to dismiss me on the spot and I'm angry with myself. I shouldn't have done it." "You're dismissed? Agent Doggett, no." He laughed a little at her misunderstanding. "No, not this time but if it happens again I'll be outta here like a shot. It can never happen again." "It just doesn't seem like you to give in to hormones like that." "It was a difficult case, I was worn out from lack of sleep having been sometimes on all night vigils. She was there, and it just happened. I didn't think of the ramifications and her brother heard us and probably told Kersh." "Well I don't blame her." "Don't blame her?" Scully stood and moved around the back of his chair, rested against the other side of his desk and lightly placed a hand on his forearm. "Yes, Agent Doggett, have you seen the way some of the females here look at you? You're a handsome, sexy, mature, *single* man so I don't blame anyone wanting you in their arms and beds." He was a little uneasy with her description of him. Did she really feel this way? If this were true he'd be holding her in his arms right now. No, she was saying this for the sake of his psyche. She was in love with Mulder. How could she look at another man in a sexual way. "So, the case?" Scully broke the spell. "Kersh assigned Agent Staples to the case. I'm not allowed back." The phone rang and they both went to answer it. Chapter Three Scully lifted the phone and gave it to Doggett with a smile. "John Doggett." He listened and looked across at Scully. "Yes sir." "We've been assigned a new case." He replaced the receiver. "We?" Scully questioned. "Yes, Monica's just asked for extended leave and Kersh wants you and myself on the next case. We're wanted in his office asap." Doggett retrieved his jacket and Scully opened the door to head for Kersh's office. "So if you're coming on this new case what's happening with William?" Doggett pressed the elevator button and put his other arm through his suit coat sleeve. "Well, when Mulder's there he'll look after William. When he has to leave on one of his investigations Mom will take him." "He's almost one year old now isn't he?" "Yes, next month." "Really?" Doggett's face lit up and Scully looked across wondering why. The elevator bell rang and Doggett ushered Scully in first. They were on their way up. "Agent Doggett, talk to me." "Oh, I just remembered Luke's first birthday. It was the first time we introduced him to chocolate. I have a photo of him with chocolate cake all over his face and hands." He was then silent. "I'd love to see your photos some time." She was sincere. "I'd like that. I'll invite you three over for dinner when this investigation's over." "Okay, I'd like William to see more of you. Maybe he'll get to call you Uncle John?" He really liked the sound of that. "So is he talking yet?" "He's saying a few one syllable words." "Well if he's half as intelligent as his mum he'll be reciting 'Grey's Anatomy' by the time he's two." Scully gave him a nudge and a small smile. The elevator doors opened and they both walked the hallway. Kersh's secretary asked them to wait a few minutes. Doggett thought first before asking the next question. "So how's Mulder?" She looked up at his gaze. He'd raised his eyebrows in anticipation of the response and Scully felt her heart flutter at the angelic look on his handsome face and remembered back to the wild dream she'd had that morning. She loved his eyes, the way they seemed a transparent blue. She found herself a little disorientated by her thoughts. Surely she wasn't becoming attracted to this man, her partner. She tried to fight off that thought but it stayed as a fragment at the back of her mind. "Agent Scully?" he moved his hand and she looked down at it resting on her sleeve. "Mulder?" "Oh," she paused. "Oh, he's fine. As usual he's driven and immersed in his work. He absolutely loves his boy." Scully stopped. Doggett felt like selfishly asking whether Mulder loved *her* but realised what a silly question it was. Of course he did. Doggett pondered whether he'd ever meet someone as wonderful as Scully. Deep down he'd wanted to meet the love of his life and have more children but he was getting older. He didn't particularly want to have a difficult teenager in his sixties. "You can go in Agents." Chapter Four "Agent Scully, Agent Doggett, please take a seat." The agents looked over to the tall man standing looking out the window. "I'd like you to meet David Fallen from "The Mirage Hotel" in Las Vegas." The tall man looked around and began to walk to the spare chair. All three FBI personnel waited for the hotel manager to speak, to explain the reason for requesting FBI interference. "We have a phenomenon going on at hotel and we need you to investigate." Doggett shifted uneasily in his chair as he waited for the weird X File this time. "Phenomenon?" he looked to Scully beside him. "Let him continue Agent Doggett." Kersh took control again. "We've had a significant drop in clientele recently because of rumors that our casino is jinxed." "Jinxed?" Scully indicated she needed more information. "Usually there are enough lucky winners at our various gambling games to keep the people happy. Recently, however, the luck seems to have dwindled." Doggett looked around to the faces of the room's occupants with skepticism and a slight smile. "Come on. You guys don't rig the games to just put out a certain amount of winnings so you can make your profit?" "Yes, Agent Doggett, we can randomly program the machines to generate a certain percentage of successes. Yes, this means we can make our profit. After all we are a business first, an entertainment centre second." Doggett nodded at this but still looked confused. "So what's the problem here?" "Even after the computer programs have been checked and rechecked nothing has been found to be at fault with them. There is more than meets the eye here." He looked towards a furrowed Scully. "We've looked into computer sabotage but have still come up empty-handed. That's where you X File people come in." "Maybe it's more logical than you think." Doggett interjected still skeptical. "What about luck?" All eyes were on Scully as she made this exclamation. "Well, luck can be a phenomenon. There are factions that believe that there are forces out there that can influence the events on Earth, that can affect our *luck*." "Well that would certainly be an X File and that's where you two come in," mentioned Kersh. "You've been booked into twin rooms at "The Mirage" compliments of Mr. Fallon here. You leave tonight." ................... Doggett and his partner trekked back to their basement office. "You don't seriously believe Agent Scully, in all that *luck* guff." "Yes I do actually. I am open to the belief that there may be forces that affect our luck." "So you believe that if a black cat were to walk in front of us right now we'd experience bad luck?" "It's not as simple as that Agent Doggett. That's a superstition that has been passed down through generations. It used to be that depending on the direction the cat was walking it could affect your luck positively or negatively." "Positively?" "Yes, in the past fishermen's wives used to keep a black cat at home just to prevent disasters at sea. It was thought that if a black cat ran towards your boat as you walked along the pier it would give you good luck." "Well I'll believe it when I see it." Doggett opened the office door for Scully. "I'm looking forward to seeing Vegas though. Maybe we'll try our *luck* at a little gambling?" Chapter Five At the Las Vegas airport they had to take a transit bus to pick up their hire car. "I'm driving, you navigate Agent Doggett." Scully took charge. They found their way through the various left turns and found their hotel on the strip. After leaving the car with the valet they headed through the brass doors inside to reception. "What do you mean we have a twin room? We were told we'd have twin *rooms*." Doggett was a little on edge. Scully was a little more calm and mentioned, "We're work partners, not lovers, so it would be appropriate if we had two rooms. Can you do that?" The receptionist checked her books. "Much of the hotel is being upgraded at the moment. I can offer you two rooms, one on the eighth floor the other on the second." They both knew this was not an option. "Okay," relented Scully we'll take the room." Doggett looked at her quizzically. She just smiled at him. "C'mon Agent Doggett, we can share a room. Let's not concern ourselves over this. We'll have separate beds." "There's a note here from Mr. Fallon for your two. He wants you to meet him here tomorrow at nine. He says he hopes you enjoy your stay here with us." "We have the night to ourselves Agent Doggett," Scully mentioned as they headed for the elevators. "What shall we do?" "Isn't it interesting how we have to walk through the casino to get to our rooms." Doggett chuckled. He pushed the third floor button. "We have to see the volcano erupt out the front of the hotel and I want to see the pirate ships at "Treasure Island" next door." Scully felt excited at the prospect of doing these fun things with her partner. They'd never really talked about anything except work before. This was a chance to get to know him better socially. " I'd like to check out the swimming pool out the back, I've heard it's magnificent." Scully nodded at his suggestion. "Let's do that first. Let's go swimming." Doggett opened Room 3014 and again realised the implications of being in the same room together. It was hard enough being together in Las Vegas let alone having close sleeping arrangements. This had got him stirred up inside. He wasn't sure how he was going to handle being in close proximity to her day and night. She came out of the bathroom in her swimsuit and Doggett's jaw dropped from the sight. "You like it Agent Doggett?" She did a three sixty to show off her new acquisition. She knew exactly what this emerald green swimsuit was doing to him. "I can see that you do." "I'm finding it very hard to control myself around you, you look absolutely gorgeous." She moved up very close to him and whispered, "I don't want you to control yourself." Scully couldn't believe what she'd just said. It had just slipped out from that part of her brain that was meant to be keeping it locked up. All he wanted to do now was throw her on the bed and smother her with kisses but the implication of this action was just too heavy. He had to resist at all costs. Chapter Six The swimming pool was more like a group of pools connected together, there were so many nooks and crannies. They found a deserted area with lane markings. "Here's the spot. Let's do laps. I'll race you." Scully had her wrap off and was in the water before Doggett could snag two deck chairs and disrobe. After much splashing and swimming they rested on the edge of the pool exhausted. "Dana," she liked the way he used her given name, it usually meant he was going to talk about something personal. She appreciated this side of him and moved up closer to nudge into his personal space. "We need to talk." "Okay, what is it?" "I really enjoy your company but you're going to have to stop being so alluring around me." "Alluring?" "That comment you made up in the room? You don't want me to control myself? What did you mean by that?" "It just slipped out, I can assure you." Scully flushed a little. "Because you know if I have any relationship with you other than professional I could lose my job for good. I'm already on the razor's edge at the FBI, "They wouldn't have to know." Again Scully couldn't believe she'd just said what she did. Doggett looked into her eyes and saw that this wasn't a joke. "What do you want from me? You have a family, a life." "I can't help feeling good around you. I *want* you to look at me the way you do. It makes me feel special." "But what about Mulder?" "It's not the same. I love him, don't get me wrong but you just light my fire Agent Doggett." She leant in close to see if she could steal a kiss. It happened. Doggett couldn't hold it in any longer. He grabbed her body and dragged it into his as close as it would get without hurting her and kissed her on their lips with emotion, craving and fire. Scully felt her legs give way and Doggett held her weight in his arms. Their mouths moved wildly sapping all the pleasure they could from their alternate bodies. "Oh Dana, I want you so much." He deepened the kiss almost letting out all the emotion for her he had been holding bottled up for the last couple of years. She was mesmerized by this attention. This kiss was even better than the one in her dream the night before. "John, this is so good." "Oh Dana," he broke the kiss and bowed his head. "I shouldn't do this. I can't do this." "Oh yes you can, you're proving it to me right now." Scully couldn't believe this man had so much restraint. "Believe me Dana, I want this, I *really* want it. My mind says no for too many more reasons. I'm so sorry." He shook his head. "I have to go before I do something I'll regret. I'll meet you back at the room." Chapter Seven As Scully lay in semi darkness in her bed she pondered before sleep. "Agent Doggett, you awake?" "Uh huh." "What was it like?" Scully left her question short as if Doggett could read her mind. "What was what like?" he said lazily. "Kissing me in the pool? How did it make you feel?" It seemed an age until he replied. "Agent Scully, I don't think we should talk about this any more." "No really, I want to know. Tell me how you felt when you kissed me." "I don't think Mulder would approve of this conversation." "Don't think about Mulder, answer the question for me as a man to a woman." Scully waited for the response. "Agent Scully, please don't talk that way, you know what it's doin' to me." She got out of her bed and got under the covers with Doggett. There was no protest. She rested her head on his pillow and softly said, "Your kiss was so good. I want to feel that way again. How can you lay there and say you will never do that to me again?" "If you want me to make love to you then I cannot do that." "You can't?" "No, I will not. You belong to Mulder. You have his child, you sleep in his bed. It would be wrong to come between you like that." "I don't belong to Mulder, I belong to me. There's no wedding ring on my finger and I just feel a little carefree being away from the daily binds." "I don't wanna do anything that we will both regret later." "Just kiss me again. Where's the harm in that?" Doggett thought for a while before he acted. Doggett reached out and touched her lips with his. "Oh Dana, you are so soft, like velvet. You are the epitome of softness, sweetness and desire." She loved that voice, the way he crooned into her ear. He knew how to handle women and this made her quite excited. He moved fingers lightly over her face as the phone rang. "Who'd be ringing at this time? Keep going," Scully mentioned as she answered. Doggett directed his attention to her neck with tiny butterfly kisses down and along it's sleek line. As she listened into the receiver she felt calmness over her body she hadn't felt for ages. "Is that you Dana?" It was Mulder and she could hear William chirping in the background. Doggett stopped but Scully urged him on, he obliged. It was just thrilling knowing that her boyfriend was on the other end of the line when she was being kissed by another man. "What's wrong tootsie?" Doggett mouthed the word 'tootsie' and chuckled. "Oh, I'm just up with a wakeful son and thought I'd check to see how you're going." Scully moved to a better position and mouthed the words 'keep kissing me' to Doggett. He moved his head to her face and kissed her cheeks as she spoke. "What's happening there? Did I just hear a kissing sound?" "It was a yawn Mulder," she lied. "Do you know what time it is here?" "Is there something happening there that I should know about? Where's Agent Doggett?" "He's asleep," she lied again. "In the other bed." "The other bed?" "Yes, there was a mix-up and instead of twin rooms we got a twin *room*." "Dana, tell me what's happening. Is Doggett really asleep?" What the heck! She might as well be honest, Mulder wouldn't believe her anyway. "Well I lied, I am here with Doggett and he's kissing me." "Oh, is that all, well have fun and I'll see you soon. Tell him go for it." He laughed. "Bye honeybunch and say hello to Will for me." He hung up. "My god Dana, did you have to tell him that?" He said with his mouth still near her left cheek. "He didn't believe me anyway. Now we're going to have to get some sleep if we need to make an early start tomorrow. She slipped out of bed and felt the coolness on her face where John Doggett had been only moments before. Chapter Eight It was morning and her body was aching for more contact with Doggett. This man had given her amazing kisses last night, one in the hotel's pool and then in his bed. His oral affection for her was like an opening of a door to her heart. A door that she had denied until this assignment. He was motionless in the other bed. The numbers on the clock said 7.46am. There was still time to luxuriate in the warm sheets before getting up to shower and dress. There was also time to think about how she was going to pursue a relationship with Doggett without hurting Mulder's feelings and without both of them losing their jobs. They had made the first move, it was a start. "John, are you awake?" There was a stir from the other bed. "Uh-huh." He didn't move. Scully took a while to form the next words. "How do you feel about me?" "Feel about you?" He was sounding groggy. "Could you stop at two kisses?" He rolled over in bed and looked her in the face gauging her expression. This question had woken him up. "Dana, don't do this. Don't go there. You have a life, a family. Don't ruin it all just for me." He was right, it would be a big change in her life. However she knew it would be difficult to go back to her previous life now. She had tasted him and it was becoming addictive. "John, I'm not sure I want that life now." She'd decided to be honest with her feelings. Doggett was positive that she would think differently when they got back from Las Vegas and probably would regret what they'd done here. He wanted it to happen, he had loved and desired her for some time. Maybe if they took it slowly she'd have time to really know what she wanted. "Okay Dana, what can I do for you so that you get off my back about this." "I want you to warm me up in bed before we have to get up." "Okay, if I do that will you concentrate today on this X File? We have to meet Fallon in..," He rolled over and looked at the clock. ".. an hour and a bit." "I promise," she was delirious now with anticipation. Doggett got out of bed and into hers dressed only in his pajama bottoms. She found it hard not to look so obviously at his lean, sleek body as he lifted the covers then placed his arms around her. The feeling of his smooth, warm skin against hers was exciting. His low, sexy voice was whispering near her ear. "Now I hope you keep your promise." "Yes, of course." She brushed her lips against his chest and decided to put this memory aside to get her through the day. They lay that way for a good half an hour before reluctantly getting up to shower and dress before their case investigation that day. Chapter 9 With only minutes to spare until their nine o'clock appointment Scully went to pick up the phone. "Who you ringin'?" "Mulder, I told him I'd check in regularly. Gotta see how my son's going." Doggett nodded. "This time please don't tell him what we've just been up to." Scully just smirked. "Mulder? It's me sweetie." "Scully, glad you called. I was gonna call you." "Yes, what's up?" "I'm coming to Vegas." Doggett noticed Scully's changed expression and frowned. "Oh, that's good," She lied. "When? Is Mum happy to look after William?" Doggett had an inkling of what was happening. "Yes your mum's taking care of her grandson. I'll be there tomorrow, just for twenty-four hours, then I fly back the following day. A client wants me to check out a few things. I've booked into your hotel. Maybe you could give Mr Doggett a rest for a night and sleep with me in my room." "That'd be good." Scully knew that by the time Mulder got to Vegas she would have already slept with Doggett. This was not going to make her change her mind. "So what's up?" Mulder continued the conversation. "We have to meet Fallon downstairs in...," She looked at her wristwatch. "... five minutes." "Okay, how's Doggett?" Scully looked over to the man she had just been hugging moments before.. "He's very tasty." Scully couldn't hide her giggling. Mulder was quiet this time and she knew he was taking longer to think about this one. "Scully, I hope that was another *joke*. With all this kissing and hugging you and Agent Doggett are doing it's probably good I'm stealing you away tomorrow night. I'm gonna have to check you for hickeys when I get there." "What did he say to that one Dana? You're a tease you know." Doggett asked after Scully had finished her conversation and hung up. "He said that he wants me to demonstrate to him what I did. He's coming here tomorrow." She collected her room key and placed it in her pocket. "I gathered that one. I hope you're both joking about this. I do not want Mulder angry with me." Doggett lightly touched Scully's back as he escorted her to the door. "Let's just pretend nothing has changed. I'll sleep with him then I'll be back here the following day." "Maybe you should just go back home with him Agent Scully. I really do not need any distractions here. I'll just solve this case alone." It was hard for him to say that but also a little easier that he knew her live-in partner was coming to Vegas. He'd really reveled in the attention Scully had been giving him but also felt guilty that he may be harming their relationship beyond repair. "Agent Doggett, I can keep my promises. I guarantee that during our investigation I will keep my hands off you." The meeting with David Fallon went well. They had a breakfast meeting in the buffet restaurant. Luckily a table had been reserved for them and they bypassed the long queue. It was difficult for Scully not to be distracted by Doggett as they interviewed various clienteles and read the screeds of paperwork involved in this case. His dark blue suit, pale sapphire shirt and red and blue striped tie set off the azure blue of his eyes. She almost thought he'd dressed this way on purpose. How had he learned his dress sense? She marveled at the way he wore his clothes. Men in suits were adorable but this man was awesome. There were endless phone transcripts and letters to peruse to be able to piece together the path of the problem. This investigation would take a number of days. Scully was sure Doggett was brushing past her shoulder on purpose numerous times. He would also lightly touch her arm while talking or whisper beside her out of ear shot of others. All this made her wild for him. The tactile proximity and his wonderful smell were a huge turn on for her. It was almost like he was testing her resolve with these actions. Little did he know that he was feeding her desire for him and that when they were back in their room for the day her foolproof plan to get him to sleep with her would begin. Chapter 10 "The Forum" "I'm off to get some lunch. Want anything?" Scully had changed into more casual gear and was heading for the door of their room. They had had a good morning's head start on their case and it was now two in the afternoon. Doggett looked at his watch. "Aren't you going to invite me too?" He had been finishing up his final file before deciding to take a break. "Agent Doggett, it was hard enough with you all over me downstairs this morning, without being tempted by you at lunch as well." "All over you? Come on Agent Scully I hardly touched you." "Hardly touched me? No, you *lightly* touched me, you whispered in my ear with that voice of yours, and that's the point." Doggett knew he'd invaded Scully's personal space a number of times that morning but was proud how she'd kept up her end of the bargain. He looked over at her and couldn't help stealing an extra moment to bathe in her beauty. The way her bright red hair lightly framed her face or was it the way her sapphire blue eyes looked at him? Maybe it was the way she was headstrong, determined and was her own woman. This woman was alluring all right and hard to resist. Thoughts had been going through his mind lately about what it would be like if Mulder weren't around. Even though she was his partner, he'd forgo all that and seek after her, if she'd have him. Oh yes, she'd have him now, but what of the future? It would ruin everything if he slept with her and then she changed her mind and returned to her baby's father. "Agent Doggett, come on then." "Do you mind if I quickly change first?" "As long as I can watch." Scully smiled and noticed his head turn a little and the pout on his face. "Only kidding. Okay then, hurry up, I'm starving." He changed into some khaki cargo pants, green T-shirt and went for his green leather belt. He was surprised when she came up and helped him buckle his belt. In a soft voice she said, "Agent Doggett, you must stop being so sexy around me if you want my hands to stay to myself." She grabbed his runners and placed them in his hand. The Forum was next door to The Mirage Hotel. It was a very crowded mall especially at lunchtime. After eating at one of the cafes they decided on margaritas. Doggett wondered how Scully would feel if he held her hand as they sipped their drinks while wandering, looking at the shops. He tried and was pleasantly surprised how she gave his hand an extra squeeze and looked up at him with a smile. It had been the right call. "Let's sit a while John." He liked the sound of her voice saying his name but at the same time was a little uneasy at the growing familiarity. It was a more open area with a fountain at the centre. They sat close together on the edge of the running water and looked around at the crowd. "This is an amazing place, isn't it John? I wonder how many of these people actually live here or are there mainly tourists." They both then looked at each other at the same time and grinned. The grin slowly changed to desire as they reached in for a mutual kiss. This was a sweet, heartfelt action. Doggett wanted her so badly and conveyed all this in his oral affection. One hand holding the margarita, the other went around her waist and drew her closer into him. She responded perfectly with both arms circling his body and squeezing. Her mouth was soft and warm on his and her tongue touching inside his mouth made him want to gather her up in his arms and take her to bed now. He was responding a little too well to her kiss when he heard someone else talking to him. "Excuse me." Doggett unlocked lips and looked up squinting a little. There were two ladies with backpacks, both holding drinks. "Aren't you the guy who's in that film...?" She looked at her friend. "Which one is it Ali?" "A Texas Funeral." "Yes, aren't you the man that plays Zach?" Scully looked across and noticed Doggett's strange expression. "What film? No, haven't heard of it." He heard them giggling and chattering as they left. "Good one Annie. Did you see how embarrassed he was?" "Ali, but he did look exactly like Robert Patrick." "If it was him, we'd be chasing him down the mall by now." They both giggled and nodded. Chapter 11 Part One "The English Guys" Scully really wanted more attention from Doggett now. She had a plan for this to happen and soon. "Agent Doggett, I'm going down to the bar to start the report about this morning's findings," Scully mentioned as she headed for the door. "I'll be about thirty minutes to an hour." Doggett looked up from his place on the edge of the bed and what he saw her wearing made him very uneasy. Scully had on a short black skirt and a light blue, thin strapped top and was looking way too gorgeous for Doggett's liking "Agent Scully, what are you wearing?" Scully looked down and decided not to answer the obvious. "Who are you now, my father?" She laughed and turned the knob. "You can't go out like that." "Why not? It's comfortable and it's a hot day." "Yes and everyone will think you are hot. You're inviting trouble." Scully just smirked and headed out the door. Down in the bar she ordered a white wine and found a place looking across to the casino patrons and the black jack tables. Having written a paragraph in her notebook she heard an English voice say, "What are you writing?" She looked up to see an eager face looking at her. She decided she would be honest for a laugh. "I'm writing X-files fan fiction." The man couldn't have had a bigger grin. "Hey guys," He called over to his mates at the bar. "This young lady's writing X-files stuff. Come on over." On looking at their friend and then at Scully they were very keen to find out more. Crowding around the table they began asking her questions. Scully was more than happy to talk about her job as an x-files writer for that famous show just to see the faces become more and more eager. "Let us see some." Scully showed them the paragraph she had just written and waited for their responses. <<"I'm so glad I thought of this getaway last week. It's so great to get back to the beach,' gloats Scully. "It was actually my idea Agent Scully", retorts Doggett. Scully says, "No it wasn't, I came up with the idea while doing the expense reports." "What?! You never do the expense reports! It's always up to me!" "Okay fine, Agent Doggett. But it was still my idea." "No, it was mine. How come you take the credit for everything? "That's not fair!..........." Their argument banter continues and slowly fades.>> "Hey this is about that man and woman from the X Files," mentioned one excited English voice. "What's that guy's name again? Doggly?" Just then Doggett had seen Scully with the ardent clutch of guys around her and stormed up holding back his anger. "Dana!" He took her hand and leant in, not really hiding his voice. "You want me? Okay you've got me" The boys couldn't believe what they had just heard. He pulled her off the seat. "Okay, come with me, I just hope you don't regret what we're going to do" He yanked her away from the table and headed for the steps. Scully looked back and winked at the boys who all looked totally stunned. Chapter 12 Part Two "What do you think you were doing there?" Doggett pulled her past the blackjack tables and along the carpeted walkway towards the elevators. "I was just having a conversation." "You were flirting with those guys big time. Did you see their faces?" "Agent Doggett. I'm a big girl now I can handle myself." Scully loved the way Doggett was taking control. The anticipation of what would happen next was thrilling. "Agent Scully, you should be glad I came when I did. Those guys were all over you," He looked down at her clothes. "What were you talking about that made them so interested?" "I showed them part of my X-files fan fiction story." She laughed as he led her past the security officer to the elevator well. "What?! Since when did you write stories?" He pushed the up button and the far right door opened. "Oh, of about fifteen minutes ago." She stifled a laugh. "That's it! I'm not taking this any more. You wanna be mine, then that's how it will be." He pressed the button for the third floor then pinned her against the elevator wall. He leant into her and kissed her fully on the lips. His tongue pushed through the barrier and met hers just as eager to explore and tangle. Scully couldn't believe the feelings this evoked. He had kissed her before but not like this "Do you like this? Is this what you wanted?" His mouth was on hers again, pressing firmly, demonstrating all the want, desire and the need he had felt for her for so long. Nothing could stop him now. He was doing what he wanted to do all along but what Scully's other life had prevented. This was the point of no return. She felt good all over. This woman was responding to him incomparably. His mouth moved down to her neck and he kissed everywhere he could reach. Scully knew she would probably have a hickey there but did not care. She would let him give her as many of these marks as he desired. "I've wanted to do this for so long." He breathed raggedly and heatedly into her ear. "You are so beautiful Agent Scully." The sound of this man's voice talking like this to her was magic. "Oh Dana, I want you, all of you. You are mine now." They heard the familiar ring of their floor. His breath was warm on her ear as she rested her forehead gently on his shoulder. They didn't see two familiar shocked girls with backpacks staring open-mouthed as they rushed past them with other things on their mind. Chapter 13 "Now I hope you're satisfied and don't go around hooking eager English guys again." Doggett mentioned lying in bed with Scully after their first lovemaking session. "And you only wear those clothes around me in the future." "Maybe you could take me shopping for some appropriate clothing. I'd like to see what your taste is like." "Okay, I'll take you to buy some this afternoon as long as I can pick them out myself." "We need to talk." He rolled over on his side and looked into her eyes. "What do we do now? Where do we go from here? Believe me Dana, I wanted to do this, I've wanted it for a long time now but you have another life with Mulder." He waited for her response. "John, I'm really confused where that's concerned. I have feelings for Mulder, I have feelings for you." "I don't wanna have to ask you to decide but I'm not the sort of person to have a relationship on the side. What's gonna happen tomorrow when he gets here?" "If you're asking if I'm going to tell him about this. I can't. Not just yet" "Dana, he has to know and we need to talk about where we go from here." Scully couldn't resist the urges any longer. She found herself rising and plastering him with kisses all over his face, ears and neck. "Dana," Doggett needed to talk, not to be distracted, but was enjoying the warm, facial attention. He closed his eyes and hooked his arms around her soaking in the feel of her soft, petite form. "Dana, I need to know that you mean this if I am going to commit my body to you as well as my heart. "Yes, commit your body to me!" Her mouth moved to his, gently touching at first, just teasing. She licked over his top lip first then the bottom and kissed her own moisture from them. "Oh Dana, I wanna commit everything to you." He moved in and caught her mouth with his. Small groans could be heard as he applied repeated oral pleasure in measured doses. "Well marry me then," Scully couldn't believe she had just said those words. Had he heard correctly? "What did you just say?" He stopped and looked into her eyes from one to the other. She had hoped she wouldn't need to repeat herself. "John I want you to marry me." There, she said it again so she must have meant it. "Dana, I want to marry you too but are you sure?" "Ask me and see how I answer." "Dana, will you marry me?" This was do or die but he didn't care. If she were teasing then they'd both have a big laugh and carry on. "Yes," she whispered at first. "Yes," she said a little louder. At that response Doggett's heart pumped almost loudly enough for this woman to see it beating in his chest. "I love you so much Dana Scully." She felt his sweet breath on her face. "And I love you John Doggett and I want to marry you." Her hands went around him to give him a tight hug. He returned the hug with enthusiasm. They stayed in each other's arms for a long time after that. Their bodies calm again, they kissed oh so slowly with deeply felt mutual emotion. Chapter 14 The enormity of what they had just promised to each other was starting to take affect. They lay under the bed covers together holding each other and talking. "Dana, do you realize what you're committing to here? She elevated herself on one elbow to look into his eyes. "John, I want you, I need you, I love you. I cannot imagine my life without you as part of it." Doggett lifted his head and kissed her. His life couldn't have been better in that instant. Scully moved downy fingers over his fine chest hairs as he felt his warm mouth on hers. An age later, needing a breather, she rested her head on his chest. "And you John, apart from this wonderful lovemaking, why do you want to marry me?" His chin lay in her soft hair. She felt him chuckle and she imagined his wonderful smile. "If I can't say the sex then I don't know really." He laughed again and she growled into his skin. "Ooooh, that tickles." "You should be glad I didn't bite." It was her turn to laugh. "Go on John, tell me." With a strong arm under her he lifted her body and in one quick movement rolled her over so that she was lightly resting on top. He gazed into her beautiful face with total love. "I have loved you from the first moment I saw you Dana Scully. I love your individuality, your intelligence, the way you're looking at me now. I love that you love me. I didn't think I'd love someone so much again." She pulled him closer down and hugged him tightly. "So you really wanna marry me?" "Yes I do John Doggett." "What about Mulder? How will he take it?" As if to indicate the change in conversation Doggett gently lay Scully next to him again. "He'll be devastated." She moved her head to the side away from his gaze. Doggett noticed this change in body language. "Well Dana, I think we should get married right away, today." "Today? That's a little sudden!" "Dana, I'm in my forties, I know what I want. I want you. Why wait?" Scully warmed to this option. She was no spring chicken herself. John was right. Why wait? It was not as though she'd change her mind. "Let's do it. After all we are in the wedding capital of the world." With that they decided to get dressed and make the arrangements. ............................... The wedding was arranged for that evening at six in the hotel chapel. The ceremony did not need to be a big affair, just two people exchanging vows and going through the obligatory signing of the marriage certificate. The actual event was tactile, the sealing of the union was more ethereal. "Dana darling, do you want to invite anyone? Your Mom? "Let me think about that. I must call her. It doesn't leave much time for her to get here. What about you?" "There's someone I'd like to be here but I'm not sure if it could happen." "Oh John, who's that?" "Let me just see if he can get here first then we'll talk." This made Scully think about the fact that there was so much she didn't know about the man that she was just about to marry. She knew he was a good and honest man, one of integrity. She was very curious about this mysterious person but decided to wait for him to tell her. There were other things on her mind right now. ............................. Chapter 15 "I think we should go shopping." Doggett put an arm around Scully and pulled her close. "I want my woman to have the nicest ring she wants." He hugged her and nuzzled into her soft, auburn hair. "And Agent Doggett, don't forget the clothes." "How could I forget an image like that. What I choose for you Agent Scully is gonna look good *on* and *off*" Scully grinned and knew this was going to be a fun few hours before their wedding. Then she giggled again as she thought about the fun they would have *after* the wedding. He led her to a jewelry store in The Forum near where they had eaten lunch. She chose a sapphire ring surrounded by diamonds. She'd always liked the colour and Doggett said it brought out the azure blue of her eyes. They both bought matching wedding bands and took them all to be engraved with their initials and the date. "Let me put that on you Dana." He took her left hand and carefully placed the engagement ring over her finger then looked into her eyes. "I love you Dana Scully and I want you to wear this always." "I am just delirious at the moment John. This is too good to be true." She then took his left hand in hers and lightly stroked his third finger. "Tonight, my love, you will wear my ring." She paused momentarily looking into his eyes with fancy. "And after that, you will wear me." She gave him a moment to ponder then they laughed together. There was the hint of familiar voices within earshot. Near the café where they sold margaritas there were two people laughing and exchanging jokes. Doggett and Scully recognised the woman at once, the back of this tall man they'd seen before. "Dave, that's so funny." She looked around and saw the familiar couple. "Dana, John." Reyes took the elbow of the man and led him over. "What are you doing here?" "We were about to ask you the same question." Doggett looked over to the man beside Reyes. "Oh, I'd like you to meet my fiancé David Fallon." If their jaws could have dropped any further they would have brushed the ground. Reyes getting married, now that was a jolt out of the blue. Fallon was the first to talk. "Agents Doggett and Scully, I suppose I could have told you sooner about us but I thought it should be Mon who informs you." He looked across to his lady and placed his hand in hers. "Well I suppose congratulations are in order." Doggett put his hand out to shake Fallon's and then he gave Reyes a hug. Scully followed suit. "So have you set a date?" Scully's initial shock was subsiding. "No, not yet, maybe in a couple of months." Reyes changed the subject. "I heard about your case, Dave here has filled me in. I'd like to talk about it with you later if that's okay. I might have some insights into it that you may not have considered yet." "Alright Monica, we're happy for any further help." Doggett interjected. "How about," she looked across to both of the Agents' faces. "Tonight, say seven? The four of us could have dinner together." Fallon was nodding in agreement. "We sort of have other plans for this evening." Scully knew they had to tell them although she was apprehensive about Fallon's response. Two agents working together, getting married on the case, was not a traditional thing to do." "Oh my god, Dana." Reyes had noticed the ring. "Let me see." Scully lifted her hand for Reyes to peruse the new acquisition. "It's beautiful. I just adore sapphires." She looked at Doggett and then into Scully's eyes. "You know you've made a mistake don't you?" "What?" This statement caught out Scully. "You know there's only one man for you?" Scully was still confused and Doggett's brow showed puzzlement. Reyes continued, "and it's not Mulder." Now they both were very baffled. "Monica, I'm not marrying Mulder." Scully put an arm around the man beside her and looked up into his face. "It took you two long enough." "What?" Then Monica continued, "I wondered when you'd both come to your senses. You could cut the air with a knife, that was how thick the hormones in the atmosphere have been every time you two have been in the same room together." She laughed and gave them both a hug. "That was a bit of a surprise," Fallon spoke. "But I agree with Mon, this afternoon Doggett, you were coming onto her a little strong." "See I told you." Scully gave Doggett a small nudge and he laughed. "So," Reyes continued. "What are these plans of yours? We really need to talk." Scully spoke first. "Would you like to come to our wedding?" Reyes' face lit up. "Today, you're getting married today? I, we'd love to." It was all arranged, Fallon and Reyes would meet them at the chapel at six. There would be another guest too but Doggett decided to wait a little while before telling his fiancé another surprise. Chapter 16 "The Dressing Room" "And now for the new clothes," Doggett gave Scully a squeeze and led her to a clothing shop he'd remembered making a mental note of a few hours ago. "I've never had a man buy me clothes before. By the way, have you often been into women's dress shops?" She nudged his side with an elbow. He grinned and leaned down to whisper in her ear. "There is a lifetime of things we still need to talk about with each other Agent Scully." She moved in front stopping him in his tracks and placing his hands on his chest. "So how many times have you bought a lady clothing before Agent Doggett?" He just laughed. Scully was going to really enjoy getting to know the secrets of this man. "Can I help you two?" A female voice came from a few metres away. Doggett was the first to speak. "I'm wanting to buy something very special for my lady here." Scully's heart fluttered when she heard him say 'my lady', looked at her, and placed his arm around her waist. The sales attendant couldn't help but notice Scully's new acquisition. "What a beautiful ring. When's the happy day?" "In a few hours," chimed Doggett. "Congratulations." She smiled at both the beaming faces before her. "Come this way. I'll leave you with our latest collection. Maybe you could take a look in peace. The dressing rooms are over near the evening gowns. I'll be just over there if you need me." She pointed to the sales counter. Doggett picked out a black number and suggested Scully try it on while he chose some others. "..and Dana, you have to model every one for me." Doggett could tell the sales lady had heard him by the small knowing chuckles at the counter. He took three outfits with him to the change room and peeked inside. There was one outfit he would keep until last. "Let me see." Scully loved it when Doggett smiled so much she saw his teeth. This smile was infectious and made her heart skip a beat. "I think I'm having second thoughts about this clothes buying Dana." He couldn't keep a straight face. "Why?" Scully knew what he was going to say. "If I choose hot clothes for you I'll be wanting to touch you all the time." "Well Agent Doggett, you'll just have to touch me all the time then." "Speaking about feeling you..." He was in a playful mood and opened the door further and moved up close to her with outstretched arms. "Mr. Doggett, can't you keep your mind out of the bedroom for a little longer so we can at least choose here?" "Okay Ms. Scully, but when we get back to the room be prepared for some serious love-making." "Ooooh, I like promises like that." As Scully tried on all the outfits Doggett became more and more affectionate. The last one was the last straw. She modeled a lavender short leather mini with matching strapless top that showed a hint of midriff. This woman's body was adorable. The way she wore these outfits was very appealing and exciting to her man. "Dana, I can't hold on any longer." "Let's buy all these and I'll let you take them *off* me in the room." She knew he wouldn't be able to wait that long and the idea of making love here in this small room was intoxicating. "What if she hears us?" "We'll be very quiet." Doggett whispered as he ran his hands along her arms and went in for a searing kiss. Scully found it very hard to keep quiet as he moved his hands up ever so slowly over her back kissing every spare bit of skin he could find. "Oh John, that feels good." As if willing him on she ran her fingers through his hair as he kissed over her cheeks and down her neck. "Keep doing that sweetheart," she breathed as she also felt his back through his shirt. "You are so heavenly." He moved his mouth again to meet hers and tongues fondled. Scully sighed audibly. "Dana, shhh, she'll hear us." "I can't help it." She puffed. "This is just too good." A while later, the sales attendant heard a few strange sounds from the dressing room and went over to see if the couple needed further help. "Do you need assistance?" Looking at each other, clothing in disarray, they both smirked. "No, we are totally happy, thankyou." Chapter 17 "The Surprise Guest" <> .......................................... There was only half an hour to go until the wedding in the hotel's chapel and Dana and John were trying to get dressed in the new clothes they'd bought a couple of hours ago. It had taken a long time to get them to a point where their clothes were staying on. When they were finally clothed they had each stared at the other for minutes taking in the visions before them. Their theme was very hot, sexy black leather, exceedingly matrimonially untraditional but mutually agreed upon. Doggett had on black leather pants and a very slick tight black sweater. His Doc Martens were highly polished and Scully could smell his Aramis from metres away. Very alluring, she thought but they needed to keep check on their hormones this close to the wedding. She knew she would be running her hands all over those clothes later. She needed to hold onto those thoughts, there was plenty of time to act on them later. Now she just had to enjoy the thrill of marrying this gorgeous man. Doggett looked across to his woman open-mouthed. He didn't even think about how his expression looked to Scully. She wore her black leather, tight mini over the top of her sheer black stockings. On her feet she had black stilettos which accentuated the tightness of her shapely calf muscles. Doggett's eyes could almost be tracked by radar as he looked up and down her body. On the top, her lavender bra could be seen just above her black leather laced up bodice top. There was a hint of bare midriff as she moved. Doggett's gaze only wavered slightly from her ample cleavage. She moved over to him, reached around to his butt and ran her hands over the very enticing contours. "Dana, we don't have time for this." He knew that his specially invited guest would be arriving any moment. Doggett looked at Scully, wondering how he should introduce his brother. He had called him while Dana was out doing something and decided that he did want his brother there. Sam complied and told him that he'd show up with his girlfriend in a few hours. Scully saw him thinking and sat down, kissing him. She said, "What are you thinking so hard about? Is it about me?" "No. Though I could if you want." Doggett said. "I have to tell you something. My brother is going to join us for our wedding." "You never told me you had a brother, John! Is he hot like you?" "Dana!" Doggett said. "Sorry. When?" A knock came to the door. Doggett said, "I think, just now." Doggett got up, opened the door, letting his brother in. Sam said, "Hey bro. I hear you got a real girl to marry this time." "Shut up." Doggett said. "Sorry. What the f*** crawled up your butt?" Sam said, smiling. "Nothing. I'd like you to meet Dana." Sam said, "Jo Jo is right here with me too. Is that a problem?" "No. Not at all." Doggett said. Sam looked at Scully. He whistled. Jo Jo came up and smacked the back of his head. He yelped, "F***! What did you do that for?" "I heard you whistle at Dana." Jo Jo said, crossing her arms. He rubbed the back of his head. "Sorry." Doggett shook his head. "I see who has the control in that relationship." "Hey, you shut up." Sam said. "Ow, that really hurt, Jo Jo." Jo Jo giggled. "Sorry." Sam sighed. "Let's get ready for this whole wedding business. You have clothes for us to wear, or do you think we can pull it off just like we are?" Scully giggled. "Maybe I can trick John into going naked to the ceremony, although he's looking a bit too hot clothed at the moment." Sam looked from Scully to Doggett. "Bro, you are gonna have some honey moon." Doggett smiled. "I know. Yeah, we got some clothes that you can use." "Cool, cool." Sam said. Jo Jo said, "Nothing with flowers. I don't wear flowers." Sam said, "We know. Let's see what they have. I'll help you pick if you'll help me." Doggett shook his head. He kissed Scully, forcefully, promising what would come later. He whispered, "I'm glad you like my brother." "He's a nice man. Loud, but I like him." Scully had been totally surprised by the appearance of Doggett's younger brother and girlfriend. She'd had no idea he had any other relatives. She did like his brother's no nonsense casual style of dialogue and put it in her memory to talk more about their relationships later. Doggett's past life was still much of a mystery to her. She would enjoy the intimate conversations they would have finding out about their respective histories. There was a thought in the back of her mind - she'd seen his brother's face before and didn't know where yet. She liked the idea that she'd have further chances to talk to another member of the Doggett family. Chapter 18 "The Wedding" Part One Doggett had been married before and didn't feel as though he needed another traditional white wedding. Hell, he wanted to make this one different, special, unforgettable. Scully had thought about marriage for quite a number of years now but had given up the notion when Mulder had sidestepped the topic whenever she'd brought it up. If he'd wanted to marry her then she wouldn't be here with Doggett now. Her thoughts took her to the possibilities of parallel universes and the what ifs. She was rejoicing that this universe had Doggett as her soul mate and her imminent spouse. Her mind wandered back to Mulder again and to their comfortable relationship. He was the perfect housemate. He loved his son. He slept in her bed, keeping her warm. He just didn't light Scully's fire like Doggett. She needed to feel the way she did now. Childbirth and motherhood had left her almost numb - a year on she was definitely feeling all her desires returning. She missed her son William but knew he was in good hands. Her mom couldn't make it to the wedding in time but was thrilled for her daughter. Maggie would see her daughter and her new son-in- law soon and Scully would be able to hold her son again. "Hey lover." Scully moved closer to Doggett and wrapped her arms around him as they stood outside the chapel waiting for the others to arrive. "You're very hard to resist at this moment Dana Scully. I didn't realise just how sexy you would look at our wedding." He ran his hands up her stockings, over her leather-clad butt and a little under the skirt to feel the lace underwear. "I'd ask you to stop that because people are looking but it feels too good." Her hand went to his chin and guided it down to hers. The kiss was hot and passionate. It was the kiss to turn heads. "So you know how turned on I am about stockings." Doggett breathed and then returned to kissing her. "Thought you might like them." Scully smiled on his lips. "Like them! I want to lay you on the floor and smother you with kisses here and now." He moved her closer to the wall beside a collection of indoor plants and found a place a little behind them. "Oooh John, do we have time?" Scully's pulse was racing. "We have about five minutes. The way I feel now I don't think I'll last longer than that." With raised eyebrows and his hand in hers he looked around for a secluded place. He dragged her into a restaurant nearby that hadn't opened for business just yet. They climbed over the rope barrier and found a comfortable lounge chair in the waiting area. "No time for preliminaries here," he said matter of factly and lay her down on the soft surface. Scully liked the feel of this leather so closely fitted to this man's body. This was her chance to feel the soft material and imagine what was underneath. "You are so damn sexy Dana Scully." He kissed her lightly at first then deepened the kiss as he felt her relax into him. "Not so bad yourself John Doggett." Heartbeats elevated. At this moment their bodies were close, their world was the only world. They were absorbed in each other's passion and mutual expression of requited love. Nothing and no one could get in now, everything was churning internally. In the back of Doggett's mind was the fact he wanted to show just how much he loved this woman. "Ah John, I love you so much." He felt her sweet breath in his mouth. "And Dana, you are the love of my life." Hands wandered all over each other as they experienced the last moments of single life in each other's arms. Chapter 19 "The Wedding" Part 2 They were really late now as they came back from freshening up at the restrooms. A small crowd had developed around the chapel door and the couple wondered if they were all going to witness the wedding. Where were Sam, Jo Jo, Monica and David? They were all meant to be here by now as witnesses to the wedding of Dana and John. They found Sam and Jo Jo kissing against a wall beside a flowering plant. "Can't you two keep your hands off each other until after the wedding?" Doggett gave his brother a nudge. "Where the f*** have you been bro?" Sam looked at his watch then back at the grinning couple. "Well...um... we had to visit the bathroom." Scully couldn't stifle her small giggle. "Never mind, and you tell us to keep our hands off each other." He gave a small shoulder shrug and laughed. So their latest brief absence hadn't gone unnoticed. "You're ten minutes late. The celebrant's been asking about where you were. I couldn't tell her you'd gone out for a quick snog. C'mon." Sam took Jo Jo's hand and the two couples moved through the groups of onlookers to the chapel doors. "Anyone seen Monica and David?" Doggett glanced around the area. All six would need to enter together. "C'mon Sam, let's go and ask the celebrant if she can hold the proceedings for a moment." It was Jo Jo's turn to take Sam's hand as they disappeared behind the doors. "Hey sis." Scully heard a familiar voice from metres away. "Bill. How did you get here in time?" Scully hugged her brother. "I happened to be in LA on business. I rang Mom and she told me about all this. When I heard about your wedding I just had to come and meet this new man of yours." He looked across to Doggett. "Hey man, glad to meet you." He put a hand out to shake Doggett's and continued, "Bill, Bill Scully and you're the much talked about John. " Doggett gave his lady a quizzical look. "Sometime you're gonna have to tell me how you changed her mind." They shook hands. "Changed her mind?" Doggett questioned. "From marrying Mulder." Doggett looked across to Scully and felt a pang of guilt that he had been instrumental in the break up of those two. "No, no, don't get me wrong. I'm happy for my sister. Never really liked the guy myself." "You were going to marry Mulder?" Doggett looked across to a bashful Scully. "I had considered it a few times but I don't think it's in his makeup to commit like that. He likes his freedom too much. After a while I was just content that he was part of my life without the ties. "Oh Dana, you're making me feel like a grave robber here. You've been living with the man and I come in and mess it all up." Scully lifted her hand and used the back of her fingers to gently caress his cheek. This was enough to melt his face. She loved those puppydog expressions of his and this helped her form the next words in her mind. "John." She moved her digital attention to his lips and drew around their outline with a fingertip. She felt herself flushing at the thought that these lips had combined with hers not long ago and would again as soon as she wanted. "John, I love *you*. I want to marry *you*. We can talk about how we handle Mulder later. You're the one I want in my heart, my mind and in my bed." This comforted him to a degree so he decided to put this thought away into a locked compartment in his brain, until later after the wedding, festivities and of course, the first time they would make love as husband and wife. "Oh sorry Bill. It's just that Mulder doesn't know about us just yet. We're here on a case together. We'll tell him tomorrow when he gets here." "Good move on your part. Tell him after it's too late. All I can say is he probably needed a bomb under him like this to realise he's missed his chance with you Dana." Doggett took this opportunity to interject. "You wanna come out with us all after the wedding? We're all going to the Black Cat Nightclub over on Fremont Street for a bit of a celebration and some dancing." "Thanks for the offer but I'm booked on a flight back to LA at about eight, you know, business." "Stay for a drink here first before you go?" Doggett was warming to this man who would very soon be his brother-in-law. "Sure, love to. I'll just make my way in and find myself a seat okay?" He smiled and went to sit in the chapel. They were poised at the door of the chapel fifteen minutes after the allotted time. "Oh my god, you two," Reyes was almost speechless as she and Fallon eventually arrived. "You going to a wedding or a motorbike rally?" They just laughed. She touched Doggett's leather clad thigh with her hand. Scully noticed her lingering fingers feeling the texture of the smooth material, or was she feeling the hard muscle underneath. She would have felt a little more on edge about this gesture if Reyes wasn't getting married herself. Doggett let out a healthy laugh. "Now that was an over sight." He put an arm around Scully and snuggled closer. "We could have been married on a motorbike. I'm sure that's been done before." "I didn't know you could ride." Scully looked up with a lift of an eyebrow. "You haven't seen what's in my garage at home." Scully gave him a little shove. "Why haven't you told me this?" "Dana Scully," he smiled into her face and proceeded quietly, "Remember? I told you, we have a lifetime to find out more about each other." Then he kissed her frown away. Sam leant out the chapel doors. "It's time. Let's get these two married before they have grandchildren." Chapter 20 'The Wedding' Part Three Thankyou so much to Harrahgirl for her dressing up as "Sister Sheryl from the Church of St. John (Doggett)" and her fabulous literary creation. .............. "I'll be your dream, I'll be your wish I'll be your fantasy, I'll be your hope, I'll be your love be everything that you need. I love you more with every breath truly madly deeply do." To the gentle strains of "Truly, Madly, Deeply" from the Australian band "Savage Garden" the matrimonial couple walked hand in hand down the burgundy-carpeted aisle towards the celebrant at the front of the chapel. Sam, Jo Jo, Monica and David followed and arranged themselves either side. They'd chosen this song, as it was one of their favourites, and also in respect for the band's recent break-up. "A new beginning. A reason for living" There was a little noise in the room as the inquisitive crowd from outside moved in and took up their seats. Doggett and Scully let the whole song play through while holding both hands gazing contentedly into mutual seas of blue. "I want to stand with you on a mountain. I want to bathe with you in the sea. I want to lay like this forever. til the sky falls down on me..." ................. "Ali, pull your tongue back in." "What?" "Your tongue's out and you're drooling all over your new Vegas T-shirt." "Annie, look at that man! Any man in black leather looks sexy, but this one? Look at that a$$!" "I think you'll need to put me in restraints Ali. I'm just about to embarrass myself with what I wanna do." "I had that in mind too. How about I lick his face and you can have his a$$?" "That's a deal girlfriend." The two backpack girls shook on it. "Hey you two. Mind if I sit here with you?" "Jayne, didn't know you were coming." "I wouldn't miss these two getting married for the world. I sold my first ever novel this week so have a little extra cash." "We must all hook up after this and have a chat. Love to find out more about this novel of yours." "Ali, I reckon we should find out where the happy couple will be hanging out." They all agreed. "Jayne, what do you think of their outfits?" "Very hot. I still like to see him in blue or grey. It brings out his eyes." "Hmmm, blue or grey leather. He'd look good in anything my gal." ..................... The music finished with the words, "I want to lay like this forever, Until the sky falls down on me..." and the celebrant announced to the room, "We are here to witness the union in marriage of these two people, Dana Scully and John Doggett. They would like to begin showing you their devotion to each other by reciting the following verses by Auguste Mignon." Doggett and Scully had spent a little time that afternoon memorising the following lines they had found on an internet wedding vows site. They both agreed it was an appropriate theme for their promise to each other. They didn't want something too religious and nothing too soppy. This was a happy medium. John took Dana's hands in his and looked into her eyes with a warm grin. Scully began first. "One heart's enough for me- One heart to love, adore- One heart's enough for me- O, who could wish for more? The birds that soar above, And sing their songs on high, Ask but for one to love, And therefore should not I?" Indeed the love of this man was the only love she needed now. It was all encompassing in her life. She looked back with total adoration waiting for his wonderful voice on her ears. It was his turn, "One pair of eyes to gaze, One pair of sparkling blue, In which sweet love betrays Her form of fairest hue; One pair of glowing cheeks," Doggett lifted up a hand to her face and gently caressed her cheek and felt it's warm flush. She felt its coolness and leant into his hand, sighing. "Fresh as the rose and fair, Whose crimson blush bespeaks The health that's native there." Scully took his hand from her face and kissed it. Reunited with both of his hands in hers she squeezed them softly and recited, "One pair of hands to twine Love flowers fair and gay, And form a wreath divine, Which never can decay." Doggett knew Scully loved his smile and at this point he didn't even need to try. It came out perfectly as he said the following lines. "And this is all I ask, One gentle form and fair- Beneath whose smiles to bask And learn loves sweetness there." ................. "Ahhh, that was so sweet. See how he's looking at her. Lucky woman!" "Annie, isn't that Tammy down in the front row?" "Oh yes it is too, Ali. Must go and catch up with her later. Who's that bloke with her?" "Don't know. Haven't seen him before. You know Annie, he looks a lot like that guy from The X-Files." "I know what you mean, Alex Krycek. So she's snagged herself an Alex lookalike." "Yeah, must commend her on that one." They both laughed and bumped shoulders. Jayne alerted the two to another familiar face, "And over there in the second row, first seat. Who's that woman dressed as a nun?" "That's Sheryl. I thought she wasn't going to be able to make it to Vegas." "I remember her telling me she was dressing up for her VIP Halloween Party." ................ Glancing back to the focus of the room the three ladies witnessed Dana and John repeating the saying by Voltaire. "Sensual pleasure passes and vanishes in the twinkling of an eye, but the friendship between us, the mutual confidence, the delights of the heart, the enchantment of the soul, these things do not perish and can never be destroyed. I shall love you until I die." They'd had a little chuckle at the first part of the saying. Their sex was just too good, they both believed their marriage would be one big sleepover. Their eyes stay focussed on each other and their fingers intertwined as the celebrant interjected. "Now we will have a special blessing for the happy couple. We are very privileged to have Sister Sheryl from the Church of St. John (Doggett) with us today. All eyes went across to Sister Sheryl as she rose from her seat with aplomb, in her illustrious religious regalia, and walked towards the mesmerised couple. The celebrant made space for the imposing nun in front of the two. She took Scully's right hand and Doggett's left in hers and began her benison. "It is written that the Lord said to Adam and Eve, "Be fruitful and multiply!" Well, here's hoping that even if you are not fruitful and do not multiply, you will find the energy and strength to do your best to add to the world's population. And even if you don't, may you both have one hell of a good time trying!" ...... "Sh** Annie and Jayne, did Sheryl the nun just condone sex for pleasure?" "Nuh Ali, she did cover it by saying that sex is to ultimately make babies." "Sex is to try to make babies?" Ali did her finger twirl and said, "I don't think so." They all laughed. A sound like panting came from a few seats behind them. On turning around they saw a woman wearing a T-shirt covered in puppy paw prints. She waved back at them and smiled. "Jayne and Ali that must be Patty. We'll have to make a point to invite her to the after wedding festivities too." ........... Doggett and Scully smirked at Sister Sheryl's comments. They especially chuckled over her use of the word 'hell' and the reference to having a good time having sex. They liked this nun. She was a breath of fresh air. They wondered how she'd react if they invited her to the after wedding celebrations at the Black Cat Nightclub but knew they would try. The ceremony was quickly coming to a conclusion when the celebrant spoke. "Now the couple need to make their pledges and exchange rings. "I, Dana Scully, take you John Doggett, to be my husband, knowing in my heart that you will be my constant friend, my faithful partner, and my one true love." She pulled out his ring from her leather skirt pocket and pushed it slowly down his third finger. She wanted to remember the feel of this moment forever. "I, John Doggett, take you Dana Scully, as my wife. I promise to love you always, seeking to meet your every need, desiring to help in every way, listening to you, encouraging you, comforting you and standing by your side in whatever circumstances may face us in the years ahead. I will respect you, honour you and strive for harmony in our marriage with a quiet and gentle spirit I will be your faithful spouse." He produced her ring and slid it over her finger to meet her other band of gold and blue. He met her tender eyes with his. The celebrant spoke as if from a dream, "You are now husband and wife." ............................. Addendum Thankyou SO much Harrahgirl!! *gives her a big hug*. She gave me two 'blessings' to work with, as she didn't know (and I didn't either at that stage) the 'bent' of the wedding. Here's the other one. Just have to let you see her creativity. She's written their dialogue. .................................... This was to be their first kiss and embrace as a married couple. They both knew it should and would be special. Doggett looked down into Scully's eyes and somehow remembered back to the time he had just found out she was pregnant. Her gaze reminded him of the way she'd looked up at him from that hospital bed, the closeness he had felt, he could have kissed her then. He could have taken her pain away with just one gesture, but it was too soon. The expression on Doggett's face, the way he was looking at her now, just for an instant she'd remembered his hand lightly touching her shoulder and his gentle, gravelly voice saying "I'll find him Agent Scully." She'd known there was something more between them at that point. There had been a spark earlier but this spark had brightened. Even if she'd felt pangs of guilt later she would have accepted a light kiss from him at that point. Moving some hair away from her face he traced a line with his fingers down the soft skin of her forehead and cheek and underneath the hair at the back of her neck. She leaned into his touch still watching the open blueness of his eyes. They both exchanged a whispered 'I love you' and moved in, slowly tilting their heads and parting mouths. This kiss was pure love. Scully placed her arms around him and pulled him closer. She had a déjà vu. It was their first kiss together in the swimming pool. She now felt the ripples of the water around her body and felt his skin on hers. Coupled with the need for closeness then, and the fervent desire now, the feeling was doubly as explosive. Doggett wanted her there and then, he wanted to passionately make love to her on the chapel steps in front of all these people. His mouth was now moving feverishly on hers and she was accepting his every move with equal fervour. As Doggett and Scully embraced mouth on mouth at the conclusion of the ceremony the song "Passenger" by Australian group "Powderfinger" played. There was a hush from the onlookers as they witnessed the longest and most passionate kiss in wedding ceremony history. Little did the newly married couple know that there were a few ladies looking on and imagining they were Scully and being kissed by that man. "Passenger" was an unconventional choice for a wedding song but they both had been touched by the meaning behind the lyrics. Even though the song initially sounded a little melancholy the message provided the hope of escaping away from the daily grinds of life. They wanted to be 'passengers' in their marriage. They wanted to be extracted from the world they had lived in and be swept out into another world. Scully wanted Doggett to take her away from her previous life. She wanted to 'step outside and see another world'. She had felt as though she had been a little trapped when it came to Mulder. She had been going along for the ride with him but didn't feel as though she had a destination. The song played, "If you want to be a passenger, climb aboard with me, we're leaving now." Doggett had heard this and knew that this marriage was his ride with this woman. "Step outside and see another world. Only if you want to be a passenger." Doggett and Scully slowly came back to their senses realising there were a number of onlookers with gaping mouths. They both knew they could finish this quite adequately later and smiled into each other's faces. As they were leaving the chapel, Sam said, "Hey, bro, that was an interesting wedding." Doggett rolled his eyes. "Glad you liked it." Jo Jo took Sam's hand into hers. "Sam, do you think we ought to do something like that?" Sam froze. He looked at Jo Jo with amazement in his eyes. "You want to get married, here, now?" Doggett laughed. "Knew something would shut you up." Scully slapped his arm lightly. "Now now." Sam shrugged off the shock, then asked, "Are you serious?" Jo Jo said, "Only if you want to. Nah, I don't want to get married in the land of Elvis. Not my taste." Sam heaved a sigh of relief. "Good. Me neither. But, I did like how you did your wedding, John. Very interesting. It could have been one of those boring yawn services that go on forever. Now, just direct me to the party." Doggett said, "Alright. I suppose you'll want to party." "Hell yes." Sam said, smiling. ......................................... 'Passenger' by 'Powderfinger' Caged You hold so tight until your knuckles show Escape As far away as you could ever know You sink them all down And watch them float up Until the wheel has spun around You will be bound by what you are You stand in the corner With your face stripped of colour For what? If you want to be a passenger Climb aboard with me we're leaving now Step outside and see another world Only if you want to be a passenger Chained So many places you'd prefer to be Than framed By a picket fence and salary You sink them all down Then watch them float up Until the wheel has spun around You will be bound by who you are You're tied to the corner With your hope twisted under In knots If you want to be a passenger Climb aboard with me we're leaving now Step outside and see another world Only if you want to be a passenger .................................. Chapter 22 Part One "The Black Cat Nightclub - after wedding festivities" Thankyou I Dream of Doggie for your musical selections and Harrahgirl for, once again, your insightful contribution as Sister Sheryl. Big thanks to MPL of "Beginnings and Endings" for once again providing a fabulous Sam/Jo Jo dialogue. ....................... The Black Cat Nightclub was buzzing to the music of The Chemical Brothers" song "Busy Child" when the newlyweds arrived a little after nine. They'd showered and changed, putting back on their leather gear Doggett still had on his black leather pants but had changed his top to a well fitted soft black polo. He'd also added his matching leather jacket. He smelt so good too, she just knew she wouldn't be able to keep her hands off him. They found the other four reserving a booth table for them all. The lighting of the club was wild and low adding to the smooth timbre of the musical selections. "You took your time," Reyes produced a mock frown and looked at her watch. "Mon, honey," Fallon smirked. "Give them some slack on their wedding night." Reyes gave the couple a knowing wink. Sam and Jo Jo moved up a little for Scully and Doggett to sit. They ordered drinks and after seconds and a little conversation their heads were lightly humming. "So Dana, how do you think Mulder will react to you two being married?" Reyes waited for the reply. "Monica, I don't want to talk about that now. I just want to have a good time tonight." She looked over at her new husband. "I'd like to enjoy tonight. We can talk tomorrow morning before Mulder gets here." The music changed to Janet Jackson's "All For You" and Scully nestled closer up to Doggett. This song was written for him. Dana whispered in his ear, "I'm all yours tonight lover. <>" and she caressed his ear with her tongue. He turned his head and kissed her. Jo Jo noticed that maybe they would like some privacy and said, C'mon, let's get up and dance and give these two some space." They all got up to leave. "Oh John, you're looking so alluring tonight, I might have to have you soon, right here on this seat." He moved his lips to her ear and said, "You can have me wherever and whenever you want Agent Scully." "Don't tempt me like that or it'll be a very short night." They went for another sip of their drinks. Just then Scully felt a large hand on her shoulder and turned around to see a good- looking man gazing down at her. She was curious but interested in what he was about to say. "I have to be honest with you. My mates over at the bar wagered with me that I couldn't get you to dance with me. We all think you're the hottest chick around tonight." This certainly flattered her ego. Scully felt Doggett just about to reply when her hormones told her that this could be an opportunity for a little fun. She gave Doggett's leg a little squeeze to indicate she was going to go through with this and to trust her. "Okay, I'll dance with you." He held out his hand to hers and she was led into the dancing crowd. She glanced over her left shoulder and raised her eyebrows towards the surprised face with gaping mouth she'd left at the table. Chapter 23 Part 2 "The Black Cat Nightclub - after wedding festivities" Thankyou, I'm Stan," he said as he glanced over to see the shocked looks from the bar. "I'm Dana, but no talking, we're here to surprise them and give them their money's worth." She moved her hands up to around his neck and moved her head to the side so she could see her new husband's gaze. To Doggett's surprise, his wife in another man's arms like this was turning him on. He knew she was doing this for his benefit. It would make their lovemaking later even hotter. Scully blew Doggett a silent kiss and saw that his eyes hadn't wavered from the dancing couple on the floor. He saw Scully say something in Stan's ear, "Let's really give your friends something to talk about." She reached up and moved his head towards hers and they pretended to kiss as their bodies moved in unison to the beat of the song. As the music changed to "Erotica" by Madonna, Doggett decided it was time to walk over to the very friendly looking dance partners. He hadn't noticed Sam and Jo Jo heading back to the table for a rest. "That's enough now Dana," he said with a little urgency. When they wouldn't stop immediately he put an arm between them and pushed hard on Stan's chest. "Hey man, what you doin'?" "Man, this is my wife. That's enough. You've made your point. She's my dance partner now." Stan couldn't endure Doggett's cold stare any longer. "Alright I'll go. I didn't know, okay, chill out." Stan started to move backwards looking at Scully and smiling. "I've earned my money anyway." When Stan was out of earshot, Doggett took Scully's arm and spoke a little loudly and with some annoyance. "Dana, you let him go a little too far there." Scully hadn't seen him this irked before and felt a little repentant. "I'm sorry John, I thought you might like it." She moved up closer to him and took his hands. "I wanted to show you what I could do for you, and more." She pulled his hands around her and rested them on her back and moved slowly to the smooth music. "C'mon Sweetheart, move with me, feel that music, listen to those words. This is our song." Her hands went to his shoulders and she moved in to make contact with his firm but luscious body. She felt herself melting into him as he started to move his body with hers obviously forgiving her. Scully's hands traced down his back as bodies swayed slowly to the exotic strains. Taking in the ambience of the dance floor, hips moving in circles, it was now Doggett's turn to run his fingers through Scully's hair, then down her back resting on her waist. This sent shooting luxurious needles over Scully's body. "Ooh lover, that feels good. Keep doing that." He moved one hand up and felt the contours of her face gazing lovingly into her sparkling, wide eyes. Scully closed her eyes drinking in the effect his fingers were having on her and the power this music was having on her mind. Using flat hands she felt the firm muscles of his back through the soft leather as bodies moved to the pulsing metre. <> Doggett lent down and kissed her forehead, her head instinctively looking up to his. Their lips collided and Doggett lifted her up to move her closer into his mouth. As he did he rotated around in slow circles. Scully wrapped her legs around him all the while kissing back with equal intensity. If anyone was looking they would have taken a second look at this very much in love couple. <> "We're gonna have to slow down here," Doggett finally mentioned. "Before I have the irresistible urge to take you up to our room." "John, I don't think anyone would notice." "Dana, we've gotta make this night last. We have the rest of the night to be alone and to *cuddle*." "Is that a promise? I'm holding you to that. All night lovemaking, now that's a memorable way to start off a honeymoon." Doggett leant into her ear and Scully felt his warm breath saying, "That's a promise that I am more than happy to keep." "Ooh, John, I like that. Tell me more." She turned her body and swayed in timing with the music. His hands rested on her circling hips. As the song ended Doggett whispered to Scully exactly what he planned to do with her all night. .................. Chapter 24 Part 3 "The Black Cat Nightclub - after wedding festivities" Big hugs MPL for your 'Endings and Beginnings' Sam/Jo Jo dialogue here:) and big pats on the back for Sister Sheryl's (Harrahgirl) dialogue. Thanks guys for making this so much fun. .................................... "My goodness you two, could you be any closer without having sex on the dance floor?" Reyes and Fallon had moved up to the obviously delirious couple. "We could hold the fort here while you two go and find a place." "Monica, do you have to be so blunt?" Doggett smirked. Reyes grinned at her fiance. "Humpty Dance" by Digital Underground was playing and the couples resumed dancing. As they began their slow movements again Dana could see Reyes' grin broaden even as she danced away from them. .................................... Sam took Jo Jo's hand, leading her to the dance floor. He whispered in her ear, "I'm glad that you could meet my brother." Jo Jo giggled a little. "I'm not so sure he noticed me. But whatever, you are what count to me." She put her head onto his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her, dancing slowly to the music. Sam sighed. "This has been a wild day, hasn't it?" "You can say that. I thought my family had wild parties for weddings. Usually everyone is so drunk and so wild that it's terrible. I think your brother and his wife are hot for each other." Jo Jo said. Sam laughed. "Well, with that song, what do you think? That's a f***ing awesome song." "I know, I know. But really." Jo Jo said. Sam tilted her head up to look at him. "So, you didn't mean a thing by suggesting that marriage thing?" "Now what makes you bring that up?" Jo Jo asked, raising an eyebrow. "Oh nothing. Just a thought." Sam said. He kissed her. "I'm glad we didn't get too wild." "Me too. I'm not coordinated, and you know it." Jo Jo said. She giggled. "Besides, I know you would end up fighting any one of these guys for trying anything funny with me." "Damn straight." Sam said, with conviction .................................... "Sister Sheryl, so glad you could make it here." Annie motioned her closer to the table. "I'd like you to meet some friends of ours, who are also here for the particular wedding." She pointed to the two groups of tables. "There's Tammy over there with her Alex." Tammy nodded in the nun's direction and gave her man a squeeze around the waist. Sister Sheryl pointed to the second table. "That face looks familiar. Where have I seen him before?" "Yes, that's Alison with her partner George Clooney." They waved and smiled. "And over there is Jayne. She's out having fun by herself tonight. The rest of the family decided to see the Siegried and Roy show." "Hello Jayne my dear. Bless you my child." "Patty's here too." Annie looked over the crowded room and into the dance floor. "There she is. Who's she dancing with?" Sister Sheryl looked hard. "Well, goodness me, it looks like that guy from the X-Files Robert Patrick." They looked on amused when Allison piped up. "That her CRP." "CRP?" "Yes, she brought her Cardboard Robert Patrick with her all the way from home. She's even dressed him up especially for the wedding and this evening's celebration. They both had a chuckle. Just then there was a loud, raucous laugh from over at the bar. The nearby patrons all looked over to see Mandy sitting and drinking Malibus and Cokes with her date Mark Dacacsos. "That's our good friend Mandy. She's come all the way over from London to be with us. She enjoys a good drinking session. I think I've counted about five of those drinks so far. " There was another laugh and then a huge thud as Mandy had missed her seating and slipped to the floor. "She'll have a sore head in the morning." The girls all gave a little chuckle as Mandy calmly got up off the floor and sat herself down next to Mark as though nothing had happened. She turned around and waved to all the girls. "That's just like Mandy for you. Did you know at one stage she wanted to be a stuntwoman?" mentioned Annie with a smirk. Alison left her date for a moment and came over closer to the nun and asked, "Sheryl, I didn't know you were really a nun, I thought this was a Halloween costume?" "Hey, I wish I'd thought of this years ago. Everybody wants to treat nuns right. I haven't had to stand in line anywhere, men give up their seats for me and ask if there's anything they can do for me. I've had casino hosts comp me to meals and shows. And it got me a chance to actually 'touch' Agent Doggett! Who knows, I may become his spiritual adviser? What do you want to bet when I head home if I wear this habit I'll get a free upgrade to first class?" The group our partygoers all heard this and laughed with agreement. Just then Patty came back from dancing with her cardboard pal. "Hey Sister Sheryl, how are you?" They exchanged hugs and Sheryl being the empathic person she is gave the RP doll a peck on the cheek and a hug too. "I'm well now. Haven't been too well lately though. Those antibiotics did the trick." The nun looked at Patty and then the fake man and thought. "Patty, how would you like a real man?" Patty's ears pricked up. "Come here little one." Patty lowered her head and Sister Sheryl placed gentle hands on top and did her reciting. As Sister Sheryl gave her conjugal blessing a tall, handsome man with a striking resemblance to JD approached her to applaud her unorthodox blessing. Sister Sheryl looked up in surprise, "Bro, I didn't know you were in Vegas. When did you get to town?" "Got in last night," the handsome stranger replied. "I tried to call you but I guess you were already on your way. Dad told me you would be in!" By this time, the Rubenesque beauty known as Poochespup rose, obviously in awe. The stranger caught sight of her and their eyes locked. Sister Sheryl, who in her divine robes sensed immediate attraction the way Mulder can sense aliens, sized up the situation and made the necessary introductions. "Patty, you've just got to meet my brother, Steve. He's in town for one of those conventions. Steve, this is one of my OS sisters, Patty, better known as Poochespup." Steve eyed Pooch with obvious admiration, "Wow, Sis, you didn't tell me you met such attractive people on that site of yours?" "I've tried to tell you, but you would never listen!" Sister Sheryl replied. "Oh by the way, Pooch, I know we don't really resemble each other. Steve was adopted into the family. Somehow he was abandoned as an infant and since my parents had tried to have a boy and wound up with six girls, they figured adopting was the best bet! Anyway, let me leave you two to get acquainted." >> "Would you like this dance Patty," asked Steve. Patty, still with open mouth, pushed the CRP into Ali's arms, took his hand and followed the JD lookalike to the dance floor. They were all settled with drinks when the music changed to "I'm Too Sexy" by "Right Said Fred" the crowd began cheering and clapping to something that was going down on the dance floor. Chapter 25 Part 4 "The Black Cat Nightclub - after wedding festivities" As Right Said Fred's song "I'm too Sexy" started, Jo Jo groaned. Sam said, "What's wrong?" "I absolutely hate this song." Jo Jo laughed. "I'm too sexy for my hair, for my hair, so I shaved.." Sam laughed. "That was pathetic." "I tried. I really hate that song. You have no idea how much that song ticks me off." Jo Jo giggled. "I refuse to dance to some song with a bald guy who sings about how sexy he is. He's ugly too." Sam laughed. "Aw come on. Let's dance and make fun of it. It'll be fun. More fun than sitting watching all of these people dance and have fun." Jo Jo sighed. "Alright, but I'm warning you, I really despise this song." "I know you do." Sam said. He took her hands into his, and twirled her around. He saw her smiling. "Now, isn't this more fun?" "Very much so." Jo Jo giggled. "Sam, I'm glad that we had a chance to do this. How long before your brother and his wife can't take it anymore?" Sam laughed. "Who knows. Maybe they already left." "I bet you they did." Scully and Doggett were actually having a brief rest from dancing and had some sips of their drinks. Scully sat on Doggett's lap as they surveyed the crowd and noticed Sam, Jo Jo, Monica and David were all happily grooving to the music. "Enjoying yourself?" Doggett gave his lady a squeeze and took in her wonderful scent. "John, I would enjoy anywhere as long as I was with you." She kissed him deeply and he returned the favour with equal attention. "Dana, I don't know if I can last until later." "I know what you mean, I feel just as hot for you, but we have friends who want to be with us." He nuzzled closer to her ear. "Dana, I really wanna be with you in bed. I wanna feel your warm skin next to mine." "Me too, I want to kiss and feel you all over." Their private conversation was getting more heated as a new song began and there was an announcement for a dance competition. To the music of 'Angrogeny' by Garbage the compare spoke, "Ladies and gentlemen, we are calling all budding dance enthusiasts for a dance floor competition. The rules? The winning couple will have the most creative movements, and people - the hotter the better. Winners will win an all expenses paid weeklong holiday here at The Mirage Hotel. Who's in? Come on down!" Reyes was the first to encourage the newlyweds up on the floor. Sam was the second. "Go on Bro, you need to let out some of that sexual tension. Here's a legitimate excuse to feel each other. F***, you would definitely have won if the competition had been on when you were dancing before." After a couple more drinks Scully and Doggett were convinced. They wouldn't mind winning that prize for their honeymoon. There were about ten couples who'd been brave enough to enter, and looking around them, Scully and Doggett recognised a number from the chapel earlier. The music had already reached the first chorus when Scully and Doggett found their positions. The methodical thud of the chorus was quite intoxicating. They began close together, and moved slowly at first bodies close, hips swaying slightly. Scully had her hands on Doggett's shoulders and his hands were on her waist. Eyes met, mesmerised. He felt her close to him and matched her movements with his hips. The distinctive pulse of the chorus came up again and Scully began moving back and forth to the exact metre of the song. Doggett followed suit and slowly moved his hands up and underneath her leather top and felt the soft skin of her back and pulled her close. Scully lifted Doggett's polo top out of his pants and ran hands all the way up and down his back. The feel of the alcohol in their systems, mixed with body chemicals produced by this tactile intimacy was electrifying. No one else was in the darkened, low-lit room. They were surrounded by music alone as they went in for the kiss. He took her in his arms and let her down almost touching the floor then lifted her, kissing her all the way back up again. Then he did the same in the other direction. When they were upright, he picked her up once more, her legs enveloped his hips. He moved around in circles, hips swaying and kissing her deeply. The music was ending and they heard cheering from the crowd as they slowly came back to their senses. The couple realised they were the only ones left on the dance floor. Slowly unlocking lips they looked toward Sister Sheryl beside them. The announcer could be heard over the loud speakers. "We have a winning couple. Dana and John Doggett, just married today I believe. Let's congratulate them on their very creative and very intimate dance demonstration." The crowd cheered and whistled. "Apart from being recipients of The Mirage Hotel package, Sister Sheryl from the Church of St John (Doggett) is here to give this newly married couple a blessing. Sister Sheryl?" She moved up to them a little closer and smiled at Scully then Doggett in turn and spoke, "May the fires of passion burn hotter than the fires of hell, may the pleasure you take from each other be matched by the pleasure you give each other, and may every Orgasm be better than the last! Now go to it before you both explode!" The crowd cheered and the happy couple looked at each other, stifling their laughter. Indeed they would need to conjugate soon or they would definitely explode. "Now Miss, I should say Missus," Doggett began to edge Scully towards to bed. "You were a very bad girl tonight." He growled out the final three words. "What? Me? What did I do?" Scully feigned innocence. Doggett placed a finger on her chest, all the while pushing her further towards their bed. "You had me hot for you right in the middle of the dance floor in front of a all those people. I wanted to make love to you then so badly." With gritted teeth he pushed her onto the bed and rested on top. "You can have me wherever you want." Doggett nodded his head slowly and bent down to give her a magical kiss while pressing her further into the bedcovers. "You are so right, tonight I will keep my promise to you." He spoke into her mouth. "I am going to make love to you all night. You are going to be begging me for some sleep." He then proceeded to explore her mouth with his tongue, alternating kissing and licking all over her lips, she was not resisting. Scully was breathing irregularly now. She badly wanted him. Scully's body was not her own. She couldn't control how she was feeling now. Doggett knew just what to do to get her to the heights of passion. After slowly undressing they moved together heatedly on the bed, bodies and hearts locked and headed towards mutual bliss. Bodies comfortably sated and lying motionless catching their breath, the doorbell rang. "Who could that be?" Scully mentioned as the reverberation of the doorbell died away. She noticed Doggett's lip curl and knew that this messenger was expected. He got off the bed, put on some pants and responded to the call. "Don't go anywhere. I'm coming back for more. This is not over is until I say." He pointed towards his woman. She loved it when her man took charge. As he answered the door she rolled over dimming the lights a little to add to the mood of their first ever wedding night. She wondered who it was talking at the door. "Who is it?" Scully called. From the bed she didn't have a view of the front door. "Patience, lover." She heard him say a thankyou and the door closed. "Dessert?" Doggett called as he made his way back to the bed. "Thought you might like a little room service." Doggett sat down on the bed near a surprised Scully and rested the tray on his lap. "How would you like some chocolate mousse and some champagne?" "How did you know that's my favourite dessert and my favourite drink?" Scully's mouth watered at the thought of this creamy, rich, indulgent sweet in her mouth. "Let's get under the covers and I'll feed it to you." Doggett poured two glasses of champagne and gave one to his new wife and lover. "To us. May we enjoy each other's company always." He lifted his flute to hers and heard the clink of glass on glass. "May the sex be just as good in fifty years time." Scully grinned as they both sipped the sweet, smooth liquid. "If we last that long. I think this marriage is going to be one long bedroom marathon." Scully laughed. "I certainly hope so." After two bubbly glasses it was time to try the dessert. "Dana, I'm gonna feed you." Doggett's lip curl returned as he undressed again and jumped under the covers. "Ooh, yes please." Scully was excited. He reached over to the tray and picked out one of the containers and found a silver spoon. "Open your mouth," he spooned the sweet substance into her open mouth. "Ahhh, that's so good." "Another?" "Yes please." Scully had finished half the container when she said, "And what about you John? Do you like chocolate mousse too? You haven't had any yourself?" "Oh yes but there's a special way I like mine." Scully was curious. Doggett spooned in another mouthful. "Like this." He leaned in and kissed her sharing the mixture that was in her mouth. When it was all gone he spooned in another, then another. Scully's heart was racing as they shared more than just the dessert. Bodies were heating up again and they both knew that this night they wouldn't be getting much sleep. Pleasure was at the top of their thoughts. This wedding night would certainly be very memorable. Chapter 27 "Play With Me" The clock radio quietly played Janet Jackson's "When We Oooo". Scully woke up to the opaque light of early morning filling the room and Doggett's chest hairs tickling her nose. Her head had been resting in an awkward position in the crook of his neck. In semi sleep, semi wake she felt the dry mouth and cloudy head that she'd half expected from the previous night's festivities and lack of sleep. Planning on being fully awake soon but not quite yet her hand then moved around feeling the warm, delightful skin of this body that had made love to her so many times that previous night. She felt his face stir in her hair and the rumble of a small earthquake in his chest as she moved her hand down over his chest and stomach. The music played "You've opened my soul to happiness." These fingers kept exploring. Moving her head slightly on a better angle and snuggling contentedly into his chest her fingers moved up to his right shoulder and down over his firm biceps, elbow, forearm to his hand. She linked fingers with his and squeezed. "Dana, that feels good," Doggett's voice was low and quiet, still not fully awake. "Shh, let's not say anything. Let's just listen to the music and play a bit." Scully gave one lone kiss on his chest. Her hand moved up to his face and drew unseen circles mapping out its every contour. Her hunger for him was growing again and Doggett knew that the quickening breaths she made on his chest meant they would be connecting bodies again soon. Her left foot lifted and traced down his legs feeling the fine, soft hairs. Feet touched and her toes felt over his. She elevated the rest of her body to roll on top of him and as the lyrics played, "Those sexy eyes could calm a heart of rage". She gazed into his sleepy, contented eyes and felt pure desire. He placed his lips on hers and gave her his first passionate, burning kiss for the day. "Dana," he whispered on her lips. She made a 'shhh' into his mouth and returned the kiss with equal warmth. Their bodies moved ever so slowly on each other, combining the rhythm of their heartbeats with the metre of the song. The previous night's moments of madness were forgotten as they were once again in rapturous joining. Janet Jackson sang, "Such passionate love that we make, in time our bodies are one." Doggett's eyes closed as he felt every sensation of being so close to this woman, the woman he had wanted and needed for so long and now was his. They hadn't heard the knock on the door and the voice from the other side as their bodies melted into each other becoming more vocal by the second. The music played "Can't get enough of you when we oooo." "I can't get enough of you my love." Her mouth moved to his and embraced. The passion was hot, fiery, gushing, flaming, fierce and torrid. The song was ending with sounds of satiety in sweet unison with the song lyrics on this very new day of the rest of their lives. They finally heard the knocking and the louder voice saying, "Scully, are you in there?" The music finished. Chapter 28 Realisation that it was Mulder's voice at the door and that they had just made astounding love as he was knocking, brought them quickly to reality. "Oh my god John. It's Mulder." "Quickly, get outta bed and jump in the shower. I'll answer the door." Doggett searched for his pajama pants and was putting them on as Dana, as silently as possible, went past the front door and into the bathroom. The first thing she did was turn on the shower rose, then closed the door. Realizing she had no clothing with her, she gasped, but it was too late, Doggett had answered the door. "Doggett? Didn't you two hear me?" Doggett pretended to yawn and stretch. He didn't think he should be the one to tell Mulder the big news. He certainly wasn't keen to see his reaction. "I just woke up and it looks as though Agent Scully is having her shower." His head pointed in the direction of the bathroom sounds. Mulder moved further into the room and looked around. "I heard some interesting sounds while I was waiting forever at the door." "Well I was asleep so maybe they were from the next room?" Doggett tried not to show any hesitation in his voice. Mulder was an astute man and would undoubtedly find out soon exactly what had been going on. Mulder was skeptical especially as he searched the room for the obvious clues that something was awry. "Agent Doggett?" "Uh huh?" He ran nervous fingers through his hair as he noticed Mulder looking at the one unmade bed and the other untouched. "Ah," Doggett needed a quick answer. "Scully slept in your bed last night?" His eyes were probing. "Yes, she was cold so asked if she could get in with me to warm up." That was almost true. Mulder thought he'd seen enough clues now to understand what was going on here but there would be more to come. "John," Scully called from the shower, and very quickly realised that maybe she shouldn't have called him by his first name. Mulder was probably in the room by now and she wasn't eager to face him with the truth of their new marital status. She thought she'd be able to talk with Doggett first about how to approach the topic. Mulder to Doggett, "So it's first name basis now between you two? When did this happen? When she was in bed with you 'warming' up?" "Let me see what she wants." He tried to change the subject. "No! I will see what she wants!" He grabbed Doggett's arm and moved him aside. Knowing that she would think it was Doggett, he said through a slightly open bathroom door, "Yes Dana?" He looked across to the other man as he emphasized her name. Not thinking Mulder would hear he called, still under the warmth of the water. "John, would you get me some clothes from my bag." "Uh huh honey." Back to Doggett, "So, she often go into the bathroom with no clothes Agent Doggett?" "I didn't see her, I was asleep when she got up." "What was she wearing in bed with you, or not wearing as the case may be." "I don't know, her pajamas?" "Where are they now? I didn't happen to see them in the bathroom with her and they are nowhere to be seen here." He moved his glare around the room. Doggett didn't know what else to say. He knew that Mulder knew. "Agent Doggett, I need some clothes please." The shower noise had ceased now. She gave up and wrapped a towel around her and came out to see why John hadn't responded. Then she saw a sight she would never forget. Mulder had found the official-looking piece of paper they'd absently left on the bedside table and had obviously read it and understood the significance. He looked from an embarrassed Doggett over to an equally abashed, towel-clad Scully. Chapter 29 "The Revelation" Note: Thankyou Harrahgirl for your hilarious dialogue here. Guys and gals - you have to agree that our Sheryl has lotsa writing talent... :) "What's this then?" Mulder pushed the paper in Doggett's face. When all he got was silence he moved his attention to Scully, clutching her towel as if it was a barrier to what was to come. "Tell me this isn't true. Tell me this is a joke. They're selling them at souvenir stores now?" "No Mulder, we're really married." "Married, but.....?" Mulder was speechless. "Yes, we were married this evening in the hotel's chapel. I was going to tell you Mulder. I just didn't know how to tell you." Scully approached him. Mulder was about to explode when they all heard a commotion outside the door. Wild pounding, frantic screaming of "Let me in! Let me in! I know he's in there!" Sister Sheryl's calming voice, "Child, you must not get so upset ..." The frantic wailing continued, "No, I have to get in. I know he's in there!" Doggett looked from Mulder to Scully then went to open the door, "What th ..." A wild-eyed, frantic woman charged into the room, despite Sister Sheryl's efforts to restrain her, and fell to the floor wrapping her arms around Mulder's knees, "I knew it was you! Where have you been? Why did you desert me?" Mulder tried to pull back, a look of mingled fear and distaste written all over his face, "What are you talking about ... I never saw you before in my life!" "How can you say that after all we meant too each other!" she moaned, tears falling. "Mulder, just who IS this woman?" Scully demanded. At that, the woman stood up and glared at Scully, and practically spat out her words. "You! You are the one who kept him from me!" "What ARE you talking about?" Scully asked as Mulder's eyes darted frantically around the room, seeking escape. Unfortunately for him, Doggett and Sister Sheryl blocked his path. "We were together all through college," the woman continued, "We were inseparable at Oxford. We were THE couple ... Nitejar and Spooky! You know we were, Spooky. How could you leave me? I've been searching for you for years?" "Look, Jar-Jar, we had some fun, okay?" Mulder gulped. "I mean, that was college. We've moved on." "Nooooooooooo!" Nitejar screamed as she seized him and covered his face with kisses. "That's not true. You're the only man in my life!" Mulder pulled violently away, which caused Nitejar to become even more hysterical. She turned back to Scully, a wild gleam in her eyes, "You ruined everything! He was mine and you just ruined everything!" and she made a leap at Scully. Fortunately, Doggett was there and grabbed her pinning her arms behind her as she struggled and screamed "No! No!" By this time, Sister Sheryl decided that someone who is relatively sane and unaffected by hormones needed to take charge. "There now, sweetheart." she said calmly, "You don't really mean that. Besides, even if Dana were the problem, she won't be any longer. She's married to Agent Doggett." Slowly Nitejar's struggles began to cease, "Mmmmmaaaarried!" she repeated incredulously, "To Agent Doggett?!?!?" "Yes, they were just married this evening," Sister Sheryl replied. Slowly Nitejar looked first at John, then at Dana, "You've got to be kidding? SHE chose HIM? Over SPOOKY?" "Yeah, I'm having trouble with that one myself," Mulder replied sarcastically. "I think you've done enough for one night Agent Mulder," Sister Sheryl snapped back tartly, "It seems you have a history of failed relationships with women. Phoebe Green, Diana Fowley ... and who knows how many more. Look at what you've done to this poor woman. If it hadn't been for John, Dana might have ended up like this wretched creature." Sister Sheryl put a comforting arm around Nitejar's shoulders. "Why don't you come with me, we can share a cup of Irish Coffee and you can tell me all about your love affair with Spooky!" Persuaded by the nun's calming influence, Nitejar nodded while giving one last choked sob. As they left together, Sister Sheryl turned back for one parting shot, "Agent Mulder, I've dispensed many blessings this evening. It seems the best possible blessing I could deliver to everyone here would be that you realise what a wonderful thing it is that Dana and John found each other and that you would leave them in peace to seek their emotional and physical fulfilment. And I would hope that someday you will be lucky enough to find someone who is willing to be placed second to your eternal quests for your truth. Until then, I hope for your sake that the XXX-rated movie industry continues to prosper and that you suffer no inability to use your right hand. Good evening, sir!" Chapter 30 Shock was mixed with anger on Mulder's face as he stared at the door for what seemed like minutes after it had closed. Two shocks in quick succession was a lot to take in. With mouth open he shook his head. He decided to start on the situation before him first. He would deal with Nitejar after Sister Sheryl calmed her down somewhat. Doggett was pacing the floor feeling quite uncomfortable. Scully, still clutching her towel, watched Mulder while concocting a new line of dialogue. "Mulder." She moved towards him and went to place a hand on his arm but he took it away quickly. "No Scully." His head was still shaking in disbelief. "I had no idea you were seeing this man behind my back." His gaze went to Doggett. "I wasn't." Scully hung her head slightly. "You weren't?" "I wasn't seeing him behind your back Mulder." "You mean this was a sudden decision? This is a mistake. Scully, you have to come back with me. This marriage is a sham." Doggett disliked where Mulder was going with this and decided to step in at that point. "Mulder, she is not going back with you! She is married to me and she has a mind of her own." "What did you do to her Doggett? Flatter her with your great southern charm or did you promise her the earth, something you'll never be able to give her." Mulder sounded bitter. "Mulder, I'm not prying in on your relationship with Dana, but all I know is I love this woman and I want to spend the rest of my life loving her." He held out an arm and pulled her in close for a hug. After a few moments more Scully stepped up to Mulder and lightly placed both palms on his chest, speaking quietly up at him. "I'm sorry if I've hurt you, *we* have hurt you, but this is a done deed now Mulder. There's no turning back here." "I just had no idea." "Neither did I really." She said under her breath. "What was that?" Mulder looked into her eyes. "Nothing Mulder, why don't you go down and talk to Nitejar and Sister Sheryl and we'll be down later to talk about what happens from here." She looked up at him for any change in expression. He looked at her blankly then just as suddenly walked to the door and out. Scully pouted her lips and looked as though she was about to cry. Doggett held out his arms for her and she accepted his warm, comforting embrace. Chapter 31 "Monica, David," Doggett said as they exited the elevator on the ground floor. "John, Dana." Reyes had on her usual smirk. "Have a good sleep last night?" She nudged his elbow. Doggett tossed up whether to respond seriously or not. "What's sleep? Don't know that word." They all chuckled as his arm went around Scully for a light squeeze. "David and myself were just about to come up and see you two," mentioned Fallon. "We need to chat. Let's go and sit at the bar." All four headed to the empty table. Mulder would have to wait for now, their case would have to come first. Monica began, "David and myself have been thinking and now that you're both married we thought you might like to enjoy your honeymoon here." Doggett and Scully waited on the next sentence. "I can take over your case for you, do the finishing touches, write up the report." She looked from one to the other surprised faces. Scully spoke, "You don't have to do that Monica. We can be married and still concentrate on this case." "No, that's not the point. I'm *happy* to take over this case. As a matter of fact the tables have actually turned." Doggett just stared with misunderstanding but Scully's faced dawned. "You mean there's no x-file anymore? All has returned to normal." Monica nodded and smiled. "How?" Doggett said plainly. "Well, some believe, as I do, that there are forces around us that can make one person have a lucky streak and another a run of bad luck. For some reason beyond my comprehension, this force or energy, if you will, concentrated on this hotel resulting in a greater than usual run of bad luck, more so that good. "So," Doggett paused thinking. "This luck, good or bad, it's returned to normal, right? Why? How?" "Yes, all has returned to normality. Why? I don't know for sure but I wouldn't be surprised if your new relationship and wedding was the catalyst to the turning of the tides. The positive energy supplied by your new found love for each other could have been enough." Doggett looked skeptical but relieved. They would have to let Kersh know of the changed circumstances of their case and they looked forward to seeing his face and his reaction to their new marital status. Scully was looking forward to telling AD Skinner. He had often hinted at the sexual tension between the two partners but she'd dismissed a relationship with this man as impossibility. He was right after all and she knew he would be wearing an 'I told you so' expression. Scully, thinking the conversation was coming to an end and eager to patch things up with Mulder, began to get out of her seat but Reyes stopped her mentioning, "We saw Mulder in the buffet restaurant." Scully sat down again and listened. "Oh?" Both Doggett and Scully shifted uncomfortably. "Monica dear." Fallon stood. "I think I'll leave you three to chat. I have a ten o'clock appointment." He looked at his watch, nodded to Doggett and Scully and went to give Reyes a kiss. "I'll see you later, okay?" Reyes smiled and nodded as he moved away. After Fallon had walked towards his office Doggett explained to Reyes what had transpired that morning in their room and their concerns about Mulder's well being. All the while Scully noticed Reyes' silent laughter and nods. "What's so funny?" "I just saw Mulder laughing and joking with a nun in the buffet restaurant and his arm around an attractive woman, and it wasn't you Dana." Scully let out an audible sigh of relief and Doggett looked puzzled. "Thank God!" breathed Scully. There was light at the end of the tunnel. They could now see that all would be worked out in the end. Scully knew that although she'd expected Mulder's initial shock and anger she knew that deep down he was also itching for a new life. Maybe this *luck* phenomenon had affected him too. She was pleased that Nitejar had come along just at just the right time. Scully could see Mulder and maybe Nitejar living in her apartment and she moving in with Doggett. Baby William? They would need to talk about custody arrangements later. Scully smiled and inwardly warmed to the thought of Doggett being a second dad to her son. He would make such a great father. Her son's life would be so enriched with the love and devotion of two fathers. Doggett gazed at Scully's contented look and knew her train of thought. "Dana, I love you so much, and I will also love your son as my own. You know that." He wrapped his arms around his woman and kissed her with all the future promise he could muster. When finally they came up for air Scully breathed, "And John Doggett, you are the most wonderful, loveable man in the whole world." Monica quietly moved away to leave them to their contented embrace. THE END If you want me to write more you betta let me know - LOL
