Marita Covarrubias

Before he dies in "Herrenvolk" (4X01), the informant X scratches out the letters "SRSG" in his own blood, directing Mulder to the office of the Special Representative to the Secretary General of the United Nations. The representative's assistant, Marita Covarrubias, hands Mulder a file folder with a photo of a young Samantha and several identical girls working in a field. "Not everything dies, Mr. Mulder," she says.

Covarrubias initially provided helpful information to Mulder, telling him that "there are those of us who believe in your search for the truth." But in "Patient X" (5X13), it is revealed that she has been allied with Alex Krycek. As part of the project to develop an alien vaccine, Covarrubias becomes infected with the black oil. Although the CSM pulls her out of the project to help secure the spaceship in "Requiem" (7X22), she gets her revenge on him by assisting Krycek in pushing the weakened old man down.
