Teena Mulder

The happy Mulder family life is disrupted when Bill Mulder asks his wife Teena to choose which child should be taken for the "project." She would not pick one, and hated her husband for making the decision to give up Samantha. The couple divorced soon after. It is later revealed that the Cigarette-Smoking Man worked with Bill Mulder and shared some sort of relationship with Teena. The CSM was also instrumental in saving her life, but only does so to keep her son on track at the X-Files.

At the end of her life, Mrs. Mulder tried to tell her son about all the missing pieces of his sister's abduction, but Mulder was too late. His mother had apparently committed suicide in "Sein Und Zeit" (7X10) because she suffered from Paget's carcinoma, a disfiguring and fatal cancer. Yet even after her death, the ghost of Mrs. Mulder provided some answers for her son, whispering in his ear while he slept.
