Cassandra Spender

First appearing as the "Patient X" (5X13) in a videotaped interview at a UFO conference, Cassandra Spender is an abductee eager to tell Mulder about a war between the alien nations. Her son, Agent Jeffrey Spender, warns Mulder to stay away from his mother, believing she is under the influence of a UFO cult. Cassandra, however, makes a connection with Scully over their chip implants, and gets abducted from the bridge at Skyland Mountain.

Mulder and Scully later learn that she is the ex-wife of the Cigarette-Smoking Man, who Cassandra dubs the "biggest bastard of all," and that she was originally abducted on the same day as Samantha. Cassandra reappears again in "Two Fathers" (6X11), and explains that she is a true alien-human hybrid. The Syndicate attempts to exterminate her, but an alien rebel sets her free. Not wanting to be the proof of hybridization that triggers alien colonization, she begs Mulder to shoot her. Syndicate forces kidnap Cassandra instead.
