Q: Can I use your captures/stills on my website?
A: Yes, of course! All we ask is that you provide a link back to serenityofx.com, do not claim them as your own (it took a lot of time to make these captures) and send us an e-mail so we can find your site and know where they are going. Thank you!
Q: I think you stole my captures/stills! I'm mad!
A: No need to turn into black smoke and go ticka-ticka on us. Serenity of X grabs their own screen captures and has an extensive High Quality (HQ)/Ultra High Quality (UHQ) collection of promotional and episodic stills. We have not stolen anything to make this website.
Q: Are you affiliated with anyone who was involved with the show?
A: We're not that cool, so no. But Robert Patrick is aware of our existence LOL Serenity of X is a fan run website with no affiliation to "The X-Files" or any representative/managers of any cast or crew members.
Q: Why a photo archive? Why not an information website?
A: Because we've tried that and it just seemed that the X-Files fandom was not all that interested in an information website. If you are looking for information about John Doggett, you can check out Semper Fi - a part of the SoX Collective - and find oodles of information about his character, Dana Scully, and the Doggett/Scully relationship.
Q: I have some high quality (ultra high quality) stills I want to donate. Can I do that?
A: Yes. We are always looking to expand my collection. If we don't already have it on our own computer we will credit you on the site.
Q: Why don't you have a gallery for "The X-Files" actors? They have some nice photoshoots.
A: Serenity of X used to archive photoshoots of X-Files actors, but since we want the focus of our site to be on "The X-Files" series as a photo archive, we decided to remove them. We will be adding actor photoshoots to the Serenity of X Facebook Page, so "like" us over there and check out the photoshoots of Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, Robert Patrick Annabeth Gish, Mitch Pileggi, Nicholas Lea, Laurie Holden, Mimi Rogers, etc.
Q: Why are all your screen captures in zip files and not in galleries?
A: For a couple reasons, but mainly to cut down on file count. Having too many files can interrupt the flow of our hosting service. The sub-reason: it prevents unwanted hotlinking which steals our bandwith.
Q: There are other X-Files sites out there with screen captures. What makes your's so special?
A: Serenity of X strives to bring the hightest quality screen captures for the series. Our captures are logoless, watermark free, unaltered coming straight from DVD discs. This site will feature screen captures from ALL the episodes of "The X-Files" and will feature captures of every character, stock shot and more than just facial "close ups". Who are we to limit the creative graphic artist? |
